Hey /co/, I recently bought an entire collection blindly and haven't been able to properly go through it yet, I thought it might be fun to do it here!
>>152749022It's 100,000 copies of X-Force #1, mark my word.
First box. Full of Thor, everything bagged in plastic. Looks modern.
>>152749116post pics or fuck off
>>152749116Forgot image, my God those Captchas.
Second one is X-Men and Avengers
Moar Avengers, old ones this time?
>>152749222Ooh, a UK printing.
These seem to be the oldest in this box. I'm not really into capeshit, but these have to be worth something right? Or at least be somewhat fun to read?>>152749244Is that a good thing?
Next one is all Hulk
Aaand moar Thor, older again
>>152749441>not into capeshit>bought an entire collection of comics blindAre you retarded or just fiscally irresponsible?
Hulk again. I'm starting to see a pattern here.Cool covers tho>>152749667Yes. I was originally buying a bunch of bookcases of some old lady's dead husband, and when I was saying that I was interested in a bunch of books in them she asked if I like comics. I'm mostly into the franco-belgian stuff (got a bunch of those too) and got a really good deal on those so I said why not.
This one is Fantastic Four
>>152749936And Fang? Now this I like
Another cool box! Looove Prince Valiant!!! Didn't know he was called that, in my language his name's "Ironheart". That horror stuff looks dope too
I take it back, that Valiant-comic kinda sucked.Next two boxes, more Hulk and a bunch of different titles. Always like to see Frazetta-covers
>>152750817lol did you pause the unboxing to go read it?
>>152749802Left Hulk is a McFarlane cover and worth a little if in decent condition, that's a good find.
Jaguar God is wild, next box has even more Verotik stuff, not sure I can post some of those covers hueheGet out of there cat>>152750978Yep. Don't have to work tomorrow and I'm a couple of beers in, so I thought I might as well. Not sure I should, kinda hard to get the bags closed up again afterwards.>>152751166 Oooh that's good to know, ty!
Expecting bulk crap like Youngblood and Checkmate
How much did you pay for all this?
HAAAAHAHAHAHA
>>152749441>>152749597Also, the Avengers and Thor comics are silver age and have been going up because of the movie coming out. Looks like Avengers 62 could have some valuehttps://gocollect.com/comic/avengers-62definitely worth looking up current prices on these
Another old one, Spiderman this time, might be nice. >>152751325About a grand total>>152751405I definitely will. Problem is I'm in Europe, I don't think the collecting scene is as much of a thing here and selling/sending it overseas might not be worth the effort.
>>152751464That Amazing Spiderman 33 can go for a lot as well. What is the black cover behind 32 there?
>>152751464>>152751500Oh, wait, the yellow cover at the bottom is #121, isn't it? That the death of Gwen Stacy issue. Very nice.
>>152751522Black Cover is #33. The series is pretty much complete after #122 up to #441 in the next box, I'm guessing the guy started collecting the ones that were easier to come by
>>152751716I thought "the final chapter" is #33. I was wondering if the black cover was Molten Man. Get those others off 121 and bag and board it properly, that one's a highly sought after Spiderman grail.
>>152751716Lol it's #37 I was dreaming.Got a first issue tho and I see pence so it's good?
>>15275180037 is 1st app. of Norman Osborn, another really good one.
>>152751785Most of them are on cardboard, but they're just taped up kinda badly. And stick together too, my fingers feel nasty from prying them apart.Any more specific issues to be on the lookout for?
More Avengers, 242 through 390. Might be able to sell them in a bundle or something
Last one for tonight.Moar naughty stuff, also Spidergirl and Spawn. My fingertips are turning black, I might need some gloves. Will post some more if the thread's still up tomorrow
>>152751884At least it's taped. I would get some silver age bags and boards. Those are worth investing in better protection. If you have 122-144 + some lower numbers, then that's a great pull and probably worth what you paid for all of it. It really depends on condition too though. #194 is the first appearance of Black Cat.
>>152752725>122-144I meant -441. 252 is the first black suit and also highly sought. 300 is first appearance of Venom and worth a lot. Be on the look out for those for sure.
>>152752776If you have both of these as well then you just hit the jackpot tiger (bad Mary Jane joke)
Yeah, this and 238 if you're still around.
Can you send me some comics?
>>152751329>>152752452i've never heard of Verotik before but that horny "how to draw manga" 90's anime style has me completely enamoredif possible could you possibly post all of the titles in the collections in a catbox uncensored? i might have to look on ebay for some of these
>>152749022Does your mom know you brought those dirty crates into her house?
>>152754738Moms gonna freak
>>152749022Big spender
>>152754709I agree, I love the weirdo indy/alt comics.>>152751289>>152751329>>152752452Please post everything you got, sir
>>152750080Woah I didn't know they made comics based on Necroscope! Loved that book series when I was younger, the Necroscope is Harry Keogh, a kid that can talk to and be possessed by spirits of the dead. It's executed in a really cool way, give these a read OP!
>>152749022Big
Damn we need to keep this thread alive in case he comes back
For those wondering I've identified Venus Domina >>152751329 as a spin-off of Verotika >>152751289And the comic underneath here >>152752452 is Satanika, all three of which were written in part by Glenn Danizg. Yes, that Glenn Danzig, of The Misfits. Between this and the couple McFarlane covers shown in other pics I'm guessing the original owner of this collection was big into punk. May someone piss or shit on his grave out of respect.Funnily enough, Danzig made a movie based on Verotika in 2019 that is supposed to be god awful.
I'm baack! Got me some cheapo gloves and a spreadsheet ready, time to do some inventory. Current box got a bunch of the Verotik stuff, as well as other sexo things. All labeled with post-its, I could just list them>>152752725No idea about the condition, I tried to read up on it yesterday but most of the criteria seem kinda subjective? They don't look bad tho, some creases along the spine mostly. >>152752808Yep those are all in there somewhere from what I've seen!>>152754738N-no I put my "No Girls Allowed"-plaque on the door, she will never find out>>152756074Yeah those looked really cool. Might take a closer look later.>>152754709 I will in a bit, gotta find the box they were in. I made a mess yesterday
Lots of good-lookin ones in here!
>>152758969>>152758654man this era of comics is so neat. Never heard of a lot of this stuff, Santa the Barbarian, what the hell. Look at all those pouches! Fraga nailed Liefeld's style here
>>152758654Well, if you want to sell Amazing Spiderman 129 let me know, anon, haha.
>>152749441>Giant-Pym>Super StrangeAh the good ol' days
>>152754709I thought it's just the coverart but NOPE, the style's the same one the inside lolHere's some of the risqué ones and some straight-up 90s hentai>https://litter.catbox.moe/h8t4ol.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/6jia68.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/pdhqah.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/pvtulv.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/ah3khv.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/r7egdy.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/gxtg5c.jpg>https://litter.catbox.moe/rn1k85.jpg
Another box full of Hulk in this one>>152759452Oh I'll be selling a lot of this stuff, just not anytime soon. Gotta sort out all the minutia first, how to do the packaging properly, the platform etc etc
>>152749022Post your top 5 most sexy Storm pics/covers
So how much did this set you back anon?
>>152751289Yo holy shit Jaguar God is based. Danzig is the epitome of successful nerd.
>>152751800Nice Kirby cover
>>152752452Danzig's Devilman adoration shining through there
>>152760031blessed anon thank you>>152758969>purgatorican you post any more chaos comics you might find?
>>152749977Nice. Its a 6 issue series, I believe. Very underrated artist/writer.
Any DC books?
Sell me your titty comics.>>152758654I think those puppet master comics are worth a little.
Another box of Hulk and Thor. Looks recent, I can see "Godess of Thunder"-labels and a ton of other labels, looks like a bunch of different series: Mighty Thor Unworthy Thor Death of Thor Battleworld Thor, just how many of those are there? Any of them any good?>>152760185About a grand. Totally worth it, I'd say>>152760299Can do!>>152760408Haven't really seen many, there were some Batman Vs. Something else somewhere
>>152749187Holy shit, it's the story when Ultron makes Ironman trans.
>>152749022cool
>>152751329lol
>>152760031You should sell me the entire set of verotika, satanika and venus domina comics, once you figure out the appropriate value
MOAR Thor! Some cool covers at least, and that top right one is an old #1?Really glad I got these gloves, they used to be white a little while backNo wonder my hands were feeling nasty>>152760677Fuck no I'm keeping those. That's the stuff I like best so far
>>152760450>a grand for all thisI feel like you just robbed an old lady who had no idea what she had
>>152760760Quite possible. To be fair, I didn't know what she had either, and all this would've ended up in some moldy storage somewhere. I told her it might be worth quite a bit, but she didn't want to go through her husbands old stuff anymore
>>152761007Christ, it's gonna suck if this is a nasty family battle and you just took some guy's inheritance because his mom is a cunt.
We got some more degenerate-looking stuff here
>>152761040you need to fap to at least one of these in honor of the previous owner.
Damn, this guy had some cool stuff. RIP, could have been one of us.
>>152761119Maybe this one?
>>152761259if you're into rats and grandmas, I guess
>>152761270Or these?
>>152761311nah, fap to thor.
>>152761343How about Rincewind
>>152761311Hmmm.. Carmilla..
>>152761040holy shit there was a blood feast comic
That is a lot of dust! These boxes must have been sitting idly in a forgotten corner since that old man's death. robaly even longer and the wife just sold them like that. That's wha twill happen to all our /co/llections :(
>>152761993Honestly I'd rather my stuff given away then sold.
>>152761155He absolutely was one of us, are you kidding? You think a redditor would have satanic punk porno comics from the 80s and 90s?
>>152762010I kind of agree with this. I put together a will recently and have something called an "addendum of gifts" in which I document who I am giving specific items to. If they don't want them they can sell them or give it to the next person. But having my video game/comic/movie collection picked at piece meal by random nobodies who are taking advantage of my family (either knowingly or not) just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.
>>152760133If you sell them on ebay the buyers will pay the shipping. If it's international, you'll have to lower the price a little of offset the higher shipping the buy pays. They take a percentage though, I think I they paid out $95 for a comic I sold for $110. For shipping comics, use gemini mailers. Get silver age bags and boards for them like I mentioned earlier. You probably need to learn how to grade them a little. I hate to recommend reddit, but they have a comic grading sub and users will tell you what the grade is if you post pics. Doing this enough should allow you to eventually get a feel for it. And post here when you're ready to sell the ASM 129, I'll pay close to fair market value.
Okay.
>>152763322>I'll pay close to fair market valueCareful anon, any price the market determines is, by definition, fair.
