Jonathan Hickman has said himself that he’s expensive, and the sales numbers for Marvel’s interstellar titles were never good from the first place to justify putting Hickman there. It was the standalone "space epic". I think its better than Starlin's Infinity stuff.Bendis' MCU synergy pandering GOTG really salted the earth and Marvel's no longer in a place where they could replicate the creative spirit of the original Annihilation Saga. They lost the recipe.
