Rick Prime literally had automated systems just to deal with all the Ricks trying to kill him. Maybe the reason 'our' Rick doesn't use Time Travel is because the only thing he'd want to use it for is preventing Rick Prime from killing his wife, but all the other Ricks that went back in time already fucked up that point in space and time so hard from trying to do the same thing, that either a) it's basically impossible to do anything there as the entire history the reality nuke between its creation and firing is just one absurd battle royale of rick on rick violence, or b) it all 'blue past a cop' like the snake episode, and the time meatballs just shut that moment out from the rest of space time to stop Ricks from sperging out about it.
