Did you ever think you'd see DC dominate the sales charts again?
>>
>>152802062
Batman, Superman and Spider-Man are forever the three kings of comic books.
>>
>>152802062
Anyone who’s been into comics more than a decade knows about the cyclical nature of the industry.
It was only a matter of time . The pendulum swings.
>>
>>152802062
>only two books in the top ten
>both from the line they curbed due to salty editorial
>>152802102
I'm fairly certain DC hasn't been able to maintain this hard of dominance over Marvel for this long before. The last time DC was doing better than Marvel was during Rebirth and ANAD Marvel and even that only lasted a few months
>>
>>152802062
The only thing that has surprised me is Marvel holding it for as long as they did with nothing but movie tie-ins
>>
>>152802102
Marvel was dominating for over twenty years, grandpa
>>
>>152802062
I don't give a fuck about sales. I just want good comics. There are none here.
>>
>>152802164
If you can't find something you enjoy with hundreds of new stories coming out every year then the problem is with you Anon not the industry.
>>
>>152802120
You're not thinking back long enough.
>>
>>152802193
No, it's definitely the industry.
>>
>>152802214
>the Harras years
Okay yeah that makes sense. Still though that was like thirty years ago
>>
>>152802062
Yeah, Marvel isn't doing well. But DC is being carried by hype, not quality. Currently, only Hulk has been a good read.
>>
>>152802062
Yeah, the pendulum always swings back, but honestly, I’m very disappointed with the chart.
>>
I mean yeah. Aren't they so low now that it's anyone's game?
>>
>>152802471
>But DC is being carried by hype, not quality.
No doubt, there's no way these sales will continue up to issues 14, 15, or higher...oh wait
>>
>>152802471
>Yeah, Marvel isn't doing well. But DC is being carried by hype, not quality.

So Marvel isn't carried by hype or quality?
>>
>>152802471
DC's being carried by good artists who are creating comics that look different and not something that looks the same as books that were published 10 or more years ago.
>>
>>152803010
Definitely not hype. What do we have to look forward to at Marvel? 'Nothing Will Ever Be The Same Event #34532' and yet another 'Nothing Will Ever Be The Same Event #34837' running concurrently. The only thing with any sort of excitement around it was the Ultimate universe and they shut that down because the editors on the regular books were assblasted people were excited about that rather than their books. For quality the stuff I'm reading (Uncanny, X-Men, Iron Man, and Hulk) are fine but nothing to get excited about. I look forward to the Absolute books every week and keep track of when they're coming out. When I see a Marvel book in my stack I'm just like 'oh that came out'
>>
>>152803052
This.
Fuck Marvel
>>
>>152803052
I think this anon is right.

I can't stand againt "average" art, "tumblr" art, just graduate from artschoool art, bad homosexual art, corporate art and webcomic art

just look at these examples:
https://aiptcomics.com/2026/03/13/x-men-97-season-two-comic/
https://aiptcomics.com/2026/03/12/marvel-studios-fantastic-four-first-foes-shalla-bal-1/
https://aiptcomics.com/2026/03/12/wiccan-hulkling-raid-of-ultron-1-tegan-and-sara/

only good one is x-men, and it is just a bit above average:
https://www.comicsbeat.com/marvel-rundown-x-men-united-1/

art looks so sanitized that is a turn off.

DC is carried by Absolute and the mainline Batman book. Mainline DC is doing terribly as always.
>>
it feels pedantic to say sales are being “carried” by certain books. are we expecting everything a company makes to sell equally? people are buying comic books. it’s not that complicated.
>>
>>152803647
>DC is being carried by DC titles
Thank, Grim, great contribution
>>
>>152802062
There is a Chinese idiom that goes something like this.
"When your ass is on fire, you'll crawl if you have to."
Companies should always be a little desperate.
>>
>>152802062
>Magik and Colossus top 24
neat
>>
>>152803728
DC has one best-selling line and everything else is at the bottom.
Back in the 90s all their books were selling with a nearly-equal distribution so you'd see Marvel dominating the top ten but DC was still competitive in terms of market share.
And farther back in the 80s, only three books of Marvel's were being carried.
>>It should be noted that early in the sales year Marvel had instituted a policy of canceling any continuing newsstand color title featuring whose average per-issue sales were less than 125,000 copies. It wasn't because titles selling less than 125,000 were unprofitable. According to Jim Shooter, Marvel's editor-in-chief at the time, break-even sales for newsstand titles were just above 80,000 copies an issue. The reason for the new policy was that resources were considered better spent on new titles with hopefully more commercial appeal. That said, three titles--Doctor Strange, Power Man & Iron Fist, and Marvel Tales--were spared the ax in 1982-1983. Doctor Strange was most likely kept going because the baroque visuals that were characteristic of the series made it a magnet for fan-favorite artists, and would help Marvel maintain its relationships with them. Power Man & Iron Fist was the only continuing series that title-featured an African-American, and a determination to maintain at least some diversity among the publisher's title characters was probably what kept it going. Marvel Tales reprinted the story material from Amazing Spider-Man in the 1960s. The editorial overhead for the title was considerably lower than for comics that featured new material. Its profitability was likely comparable to titles above the cancellation threshold, which is why it was continued.
>>
>>152804060
it should be lower.
>>
>>152802062
doesnt matter marvel tells better stories
>>
>>152804412
Yeah, decades ago
>>
>>152804096
they're selling comics. lots of people are buying the comics. you're overthinking it.

There are good comics being published THIS MONTH. You're just a mentally ill misanthrope with fucked up dopamine receptors and being contrarian is the only way you feel anything
>>
>>152804096
this is pedantic goalpost moving.
Could easily say
>Marvel has one best-selling character and everything else is at the bottom.
>>
>>152804412
This was never the case.
>>
>DC has been flailing for years
>they add in Homelander, aka the only good superhero character ever made, as a crossover guest character
>suddenly they're on top of the world again putting Marvel in its place
We did it Homelander nation! Hoo-Rah. Semper Fi. yeah. America.

No but I love to see it. Marvel fucking sucks ass.
>>
marvel still makes more money and has more overall cultural impace , laugh it up while you can DC cuck

>>
>>152802062
prolly not desu :-/
>>
>>152802062
I mean these are fake and Marvel is actually vastly outselling DC in about every way, Nobody actually reads the Astonishing or whatever
>>
>>152802471
>But DC is being carried by hype, not quality.
Just a heads up, this is literally a Marvel talking point. This is how everyone at Marvel is coping about Absolute doing what Ultimate was supposed. Saying Absoluye is just a lazy copy of Ultimate with no staying power, and Ultimate was a huge success they are ending on a high. Marvel employees, most likely Brevoort or Cebulski himself, are in every DC vs Marvel thread running damage control.

Also the amount of seethe Scott Snyder is causing among Marvel employees is hilarious. Calling him things like a used car salesman who is selling readings a clunker with nice paint that will break down in a year. Meanwhile Absolute seems to have much better staying power than the Ultimate line they are putting down like Old Yeller. Also all the people crying about Snyder in private calling him names are all playing nice in public, which makes it even more pathetic.

yes. it was obvious as soon as krakoa started and peter parker got cucked or whatever

>>152804412
you're fucking retarded if you think marvel writers are good. that ship sunk the second they got bendis on board for x-men. yeah it was a mess but there was no coming back after that
>>
>>152803647
This. I’m so tired of people ignoring that DC’s mainline is still far worse than Marvel’s.
>>
>>152809167
>>152809636
Sure, Marvel shill
>>
>>152802062
>All DC had to do was to scrap the old universe
Grim.
>>
>>152809636
Marvel is hard carried by all their continuous relaunches/#1s. If Magik were #11 it would not be this high up. Psylocke already freefell down the chart by issue 2 despite being in top 25 for issue 1.
>>
>>152810224
DC has literally nothing carrying the mainline. Even if they copied Marvel’s nonstop relaunches it probably wouldn’t change anything. At this point I just hope Jim Lee retires so they can finally start cleaning house.
>>
>>152809636
Marvel only has Hulk, Thor and Moon Knight as worthwhile reads

DC has the entire Absolute line and the usual assorted Bat books. It's incredibly telling that the only book in the top 40 for Marvel in 2025 was fucking Batman.

Instead of pearl-clutching, tell Brevoort that people want quality books.
