Why exactly do people hate this aesthetic?
>>
RELEASE ME
>>
>>152809564
i have chungus wife fatigue. i need more tomboys
>>
>>152809564
Because it’s coming from 30 year old women children.
>>
>>152809564
Because I can smell the type of women who drew this like how I can smell the men of /co/ threads
>>
>>152809564
We've been seeing it for like 20 years now
>>
>>152809564
/co/ is a board full of men and a majority of /co/ doesn't like "cutesy" media, they want sexy woman and manly men

Because it's always paired with this juvenile "look how quirky I am!" vibe that feels more performative than sincere.

I thought quirk chungus was just a meme.

No it's a real couple the comic is based off. The real chungus became a lesbian and divorced man-child all to get updoots on reddit.
>>
>>152809564
What happens to these women after college?
>>
I'm 27 years old and a virgin and I will never be in a loving relationship and seeing cutesy couples depresses me.

I actually don't hate these types of comics (sometimes I even like them) but I can understand that it's pretty much saturated out in the webcomics field and no one's really doing anything unique or original with it.

These are actually good women. It shows you where their focus lies: on domestic life. Their partner, their household, their pets, and their creative pursuits. Quintessentially female matters. They get to act like quirk chunguses because they feel accepted enough to do so openly; they know full well they're being embarrassing but they don't care.
Some of them are only ruined by the fact that they spend too much time online and are starting to seek attention and approval from the fundamentally poisoned online crowds who invariably amplify toxic traits in these women like selfishness and what I can only describe as pathological wokeness (belligerence within marriage over ideological issues).

>white guy has cheese
I remember that Boondocks episode
>>
>>152811135
Yeah, man, this is kind of wholesome. I want a cheese girlfriend.
>>
>>152809564
>hello I'm gonna base my entire personality around having a partner
>hopefully that lasts
>>

I know this has probably happened many times before, but was there a notable example of this happening with one of these webcomic artists?
>>
I think people associate with calarts artstyle and this fragment of the culture war of the 2010's where anything remotely close to it was bad because it was way more left leaning.

I like it fine, tho. is a primal example that really illustrates to me that most people too invested in this sorta of conflict are more reactionary beasts trowing tantrums at things they don't like and their own feelings like an spoiled female on their period than anything that should be taken seriously and should just be purged from existence, because they will do everything they can to drag every bit of existence to their self serving ideology that is only there so they can stroke their own ego and feel like they are right about everything.
>>
What the hell is wrong with a quirk chungus wife?!
>>
>>152809969
This, it has no actual personality

I feel like I remember this being mentioned before but I don't think it was this couple in the OP comic.

Pretending to be smart makes people think you're stupid, pretending to be tough makes people think you're weak.
Pretending to be an impish child makes people think you're hiding some kind of manipulative malice

I hate to say it but I miss the quirky millennial Vine era humor.

Most will get a normie job or at best become an artist full-time where they post these comics, do commissions, and eventually get a book to print. The Our Super Adventure types are probably a good example of this, where she's still with the guy and they're essentially making books and content off the cats comics.
Most probably wish they could be Sarah Andersen but I think Sarah's actually one of the best case scenarios of this type of webcomic artist. She does the scribble comics but also operates as an artist outside of her famous Scribbles comics.

It just reminds me of how soulless Western culture has become. People try soo hard to pretend to be quirky and overly welcoming and open minded, but they're just lying to themselves. False positivity and virtue signalling is just extremely mindnumbingly toxic.
>>
>>152809564
It’s boring.
