It was a very, very thinly-veiled attempt by CN to outright clone the success of Teen Titans Go, by way of turning and older show into a farcical comedy. There is not really much to say beyond that. It was a cynical, corporate-mandated show. It failed. That's about all.
Best part of the show is when they got the original voice actor for Lion-O to say "poop mouth" like it was a big zinger against the detractors.
