This show is really important to me and let me explain why it's better than what the media seems to make it be. I am not joking. It has so many references to modern culture that many don't realize are under the terrible jokes. I hope I can format it right.Let's start with the elephant in the room - Indian culture The show was made before the widespread stigma against it's nation so it make it much more realistic without being contrarian for the sake of standing out. Without spoiling and being unnecessary political I just want to mention how I respect explaining prudeness for both genders without making it weird especially with the usual discrimination that can occur from it I can't speak without mentioning the other problematic humour - farts and poop are silly thing but they had to be there just to hide the deeper meaning of jealousy, obsession, ego, grief, idol worshipping and breaking the stereotype of stupidity being ignored as a call for help. It has connections to cartoon network's pilot The Summoning and the European series Titeuf to which both have signature poop joke that was present in S and C too. It's gross, it's disgusting, it's not subtle but it made it stand out without being a fetish and there are shows that make it a fetish (cough cough rocket monkeys).
Now let's speak for the characters - the design is just Bob's Burgers but the plot is so much close to Nickelodeon'$ Golden boy Robert Square Pants that's its not even funny and the unique kid nature of Clarence's suffering from the eyes of a child masked with comedy so we don't just cry all the time. Obviously Nudman is caricature of Squidward - old man being unable to follow the main character's whimsical way and it's pretty sad but necessary to explain that your happiness will always mean you will make someone else sad. Megan and Belle can be represented as the other side of the coin to Mabel and Wendy from Disney's chungus gem Gravity Falls and even if they don't grow as characters much, the hint is important. Love is weird and it makes you go crazy. Tufflips is the star of the show and it's scary to pinpoint moments where he droops his attitude to show he is real even if it will hurt his ratings unlike what total drama's Chris McClain would do. He is there to materialize the need of celebrity cameos being forced in today's media for profit. Maximum Dennis is no different. He shows that not respecting yourself and lying can make your fans repeat your same mistake continuing your sadness and you have to take responsibility. I don't want to make this post too long so I will stop for now but thank you if I made you learn something new.
