Which seems to not make sense right? Caliborn is the orchestrator of the story, how can he not have agency? But at the same time, his weird fucked up childhood and his perverse and asinine way of thinking basically locked him into a binary way of thinking. As Lord English, he is reduced to a writhing hulking mass of green flesh who shoots lasers and destroys, who lacks even the personality to be gaudy and tasteless as caliborn is, the only thing that remains is his cario overcoat. That is the price one just pay to dominate 2 universes completely and utterly. The same can be said for poor calliope. The prime calliope is killed unceremoniously because she rejected power, but chose happiness instead. The calliope who chose to live and to be strong suffered a fate far worse than death being alone in an empty universe for eons, sapped of any joy and friendship she could ever have. As to be the master of space, one must be entirely removed from it. It's really sad actually :((
