In the very first seasons of FOP, Cosmo was more of a laid back character, less smart than Wanda, but did have a great comedy dynamic with her.

Not gonna lie and say that I loved the townies or anything but I was more bothered by how they treated townie episodes after the back half of season two.
Season one made it all about how the normal people interacted with the aliens or alien technology. Those episodes were fun but then they just made them about random dudes doing random boring human shit with little to no gem involvement and it filled up like a quarter of the series or more.
The worst part is that in the big finale mini-series they are ALL completely irrelevant to the point where most of them don't even appear outside of background cameos making all of the boring townie episodes completely pointless in retrospect since the excuse for the townie episodes in the first place were that they were there to ground Steven's humanity. The one time a townie does something it is a brand new diversity hire who never appeared before or after.

I get the idea in theory. It is to show what life is like for the people the Crystal Gems are protecting and how mundane their lives are compared to theirs while also giving Steven some human grounding.
The problem is that in practice it was really goddamned boring if a gem monster or gem artifact never showed up and against all logic they mostly phased those out of townie episodes early on and doubled down on the mind mindbogglingly dull SoL plots.

Many of the townies we were subjected to just straight disappeared without explanation (Peedee, the entire Pizza family, Ronaldo, Kevin, ect) and gems that seemed like they should be reasonably important just never got their time in the spotlight after their introductions. The biggest example of the latter being Centipeetle/Nephrite who despite being pivotal to the direction the series takes (she is the corrupted gem Steven failed to save and caused him to start his quest to find a cure for the corrupted gems) she only gets silent cameos after she is cured.

I had a land before time binge while back and actually found myself enjoying them a lot and also sincerely getting invested. But they weren't all good since 6, 9 and 13 were pretty rubbish despite having like one or two neat things in them. Genuinely got super annoyed with how glibly Littlefoot mentioned his mother solely to whine about not having a brother in ninth film cause he was border for like a few minutes and Mo/the Yellow bellies/Cera's shitty nieces genuinely grated on my nerves which is rare since I've not really been annoyed by a character in years except for Insomniac MJ.

I dropped the show shortly after battle for mewni cuz i was sick and tired that they were still dragging out the "will they wont they" shit with starco and not just pairing them up already. When i heard about the finale it enraged the absolute hell outta me. Why take your show which started out as a celebration of magic and fantasy and end it where they depict the literal destruction of magic-the embodiment of imagination and whimsy and enchantment and wonder in the universe as a heroic act of some how killing that objectively positive and wholly good force and while also acknowledging the fact that BILLIONS of innocent beings die as a result and they just laugh it off as a causality like it was nothing as if those other people were collateral damage. It makes me fucking sick and to portray the murder of something as objectively beautiful and good as magic as a heroic act seems like some sinister psy-op meaning behind it, but everyone thinks im crazy and the writers were just surface level shit posting and im looking too much into it so who knows whos right anymore.

I liked EEnE as a kid, but I also found the show incredibly frustrating to watch because so often the Eds would just get a bigger punishment than they deserved. Most of the time, that punishment was just them getting raped by the Kankers. Kind of funny that even the writers knew it by the end which made pic related the most satisfying moment in the series.
