Marvel Rivals does this too, they JUST added Deadpool 2 months ago, because that was their plan from the start, they didn't want to blow their load too early because, moving forward, people wouldn't be as excited for niche characters like Elsa Bloodstone as they would be for Deadpool, Rogue, Black Cat, etcetera. That's how these games work, they don't want you to have fun from the start, they want you to be excited for future updates and perpetually engaged through battle passes, in multiversus' case, updates that never came to be.
