It's a fun series, but trying to follow the plot is like trying to decipher the journals of a madman; huge chunks of its plot are only revealed through 'blink and you'll miss it' background details or shit that happens completely off-screen, and you're basically expected to rewatch every episode a dozen times to figure out what the fuck is going on. the problem with TADC isn't that it's a mystery box. Everything does have concrete answers. The problem is that the only 'foreshadowing' for any of the twists is random bullshit blinking red and blue so when the Big Reveal comes it just feels like it sort of happens. There's no consideration given to how the characters should feel, just how the audience should feel

There's some genuine criticism here and there, but I swear half the ranting in the show's fanbase is just malding that the story didn't go in the same direction as their personal headcanons and fanfics.

There's a line between making guesses and still being open to see where the story takes you VS acting like a sleuth who assumed has solved the puzzle only to feel betrayed when it wasn't the case.

And the same can be said of most if not all DEEPEST LORE cartoons in the last decade.
