In fact outside of situations where they catch up to the source material I can't think of one anime adaptation that changes even a singular major plot point from its source material. Takes Off isn't an adaptation it's a sequel that was marketed as an adaptation. It's not wrong for people to want something like an anime adaptation or like Invincible's adaptation done for the original Scott Pilgrim comic.

He didn't own the Chaos Theatre. He couldn't get inside. He had nothing. Having absolutely nothing changed his perspective of life.Gideon's change does make sense if you actually put yourself in his shoes instead of just expecting him to be an irredeemable asshole.
