Would you have Hank Hill as your father?
Sure I mean it can't be worse than having a manchild loser as a father
>>152940622I don't think I'd have a choice in the matter if that was a possibility
>>152940626Are you talking about your dad? That's pretty mean
I was a fat, weird kid raised by a father who loved him (even if he didn't really understand him sometimes), so I feel like I already got that experience.
>>152940635Yes, fuck my father.
My Dad is like Hank Hill only more controlling and has a sense of humor.
>>152940622Given the insane patience and love he has for Bobby despite his many flaws, i would say yes.Hank's a good dude that can sometimes learn if he was being too harsh too
>>152940708Hi, father. I'm dad
>>152940622I don't know, I've never had a father.
>>152940622Considering Hanks only real flaws are his autistic hyper-fixation with propane, his emotionally repressed personality, his weird one-way surrogate father/son relationship with his boss and the fact he is sometimes a hypocrite, I'd say that you're getting way more good dad traits than bad. That's a good father I tell you hwat
>>152940622Does that mean I would be born as an american?
>>152941924Fuck no.You'd be born as a TEXAN
>>152940622I would enjoy having the stability and lessons of self sufficiency that Hank gives but wouldn't care for his more conservative parenting stuff. I feel like as a kid who was way into shit like pokemon and Dragonball, Hank probably wouldn't allow me to engage with those things that much. Though to be fair he does allow Bobby to keep his troll dolls and gameboy so he's probably not as much of a hardass as he sometimes comes off.
>>152940622My dad is already Hank Hill except with computers instead of propane.>Hey anon, let's learn some Python.>>My dad says Python's a bastard language.
>>152940663Don't mind if I do!
>>152940622My dad is cooler than Hank, so I wouldn't trade. But you could do a lot worse than Hank, he's a good father overall. Bobby is lucky to have him.
>>152940622No, I like my dad
>>152940622Yes, because Hank would have actually tried to get involved in my life and bond with me instead of just leaving me to my own devices and then hating me once I turned out a manchild fuckup.>>152942251Damn, your dad sounds awesome
>>152940622I would have turned out a lot better if I did
>>152942377He is, and I love him, but he frustrates me something awful sometimes. But all dads do, I suppose.
>>152940622With Hank as a dad, I'd have a versatile set of skills and know-how (fishing, lawncare, vehicle repair), but also carry some emotional baggage and be at risk of bottling up my feelings. I do appreciate how King of the Hill shows the cons AND pros of his parenting, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKnZ9_WxXHI
Car
yes
>>152944352Yeah?
>>152940622yeah, i think hank would be more caring than my real "father"
>>152940622I do, but I don't talk to him as much as I should. I don't really talk to either of my parents cause of my emotionally stunted maturity.
>>152940622>Would you have I don't think that's how it works generally
>>152940622Well, I probably wouldn't be an alcoholic, or at least, I wouldn't have gotten a head start with shots of vodka when I was 15.
>>152940622Naw, I love my dad, wouldn't change him for anything.
>>152940622I think I did.
>>152940626Really? What, was he one of those dads who tried to be your friend and not actually parent you at all?
>>152942251>You brought Python into our house!>I didn't know what it was. Luanne made it for me. I thought it was Lua!>There's whitespace in my boy's code! You don't get that from a clean, elegant language!>You don't get an easy to understand script, either.>SHUT YOUR MOUTH.
>>152940622Nah, too stubborn and unambitious, I would suffocate from his inability to fathom my interests
My dad basically is Hank Hill.
>>152940622Yep. Hank's a good, responsible person and my dad was old enough to be my grandfather and spent his life having heart attacks until he died when I was in school. People who pretend they aren't too old to have children are the scum of the earth.
>>152940622Yeah. I never knew my father, but by all accounts he was a complete cunt. Wasted our family fortune, raised a criminal, cheated on my mom and then abandoned us. I don't know a single person who had a single good thing to say about him.Hank would be a massive improvement.
>>152940764huh?
My dad died when I was 10 and I have zero memory of him. My sister says he was abusive as fuck and smacked me around, but I have zero memory of him whatsoever.I wonder if it's some kind of self-defense mechanism in my brain and one day I'll just suddenly remember everything and go nuts. Anyways, yeah I'd take Hank as a dad since he probably wouldnt' do that shit.
>>152940622It's no wonder this board is the way it is with what the posts in this thread reveal.
>>152946238lol
>>152940622I'd put him in his place
>>152940622This man's got some GODLY cheekbones, I'm kinda jelly ngl
>>152947208https://youtu.be/QEzhxP-pdos
>>152940626That's a rude thing to say about bobby and connie and their unborn ipad baby.
>>152942084>>152941924Aka a cowboy larper because texans used to be tough guys in, like, 1880. Real cowboys live in montana and alaska. And even those places aren't safe now that californian homos are moving there.
>>152947208>My dad died when I was 10 and I have zero memory of him. My sister says he was abusive as fuck and smacked me around, but I have zero memory of him whatsoever.I mean if you have zero memory of your dad and you were ten he probably beat your fuckin head in kek.
>>152943270I LOVE that song!
>>152940622My dad was a lot like Hank in a lot of ways, and being that I was more or less the same age as Bobby when my dad was raising me, it really struck a chord. My dad was overall a little cooler than Hank when it came to work and such (he flew jets instead of selling propane), but I feel like the show helped him get me a bit. He never got comics or videogames, but he and I ended up in a situation just like this episode, where we understood each other more. He's still one of my best friends, and I'll miss him when he's gone.
>>152940622sure why not
