I just watched a bit of that interview with Steve Ditko's brother (Pat Ditko) and there was this moment where he describes a story where he walks into a local drugstore and a woman in there is named by him as Mary Jane and he asks if she has seen Batman and says he's his brother and she recognizes him as Pat. It's after he explains that Ditko and a friend of his would go around town as kids pretending to be Batman and Robin.What floored me about this, was the interviewer failing to inquire further as to whether he was just using Mary Jane as a generic name for this drugstore woman or if she really was named Mary Jane. Because then that might be why he chose that name for MJ.
