Is Beast Wars worth watching?
>>
>>152948971
It has a few fakeout endings and clearly was flirting with early cancellation at a few points, but it's not that long and is a solid set of characters. I would still rate it highly.
>>
>>152948971
It's still one of the best Transfromers shows for damn good reason.
>>
>>152948998
>few fakeout endings

What does this even mean
>>
>>152948971
>her design was inspired by an exotic dancer
Man, Canucks in the 90s were so based but had to piss all of it away in favor of boogerfartshit animated in Flash instead of making cool stuff.

Been marathoning the she recently. It's surprisingly good still. I actually even saw the action scenes get better as the show has progressed too. Actually makes me wonder why it's so hard to find shows this fun being made these days.
>>
The animation is so ugly.

As long as you can look past the old CGI. It gets better as the series goes on but overall it holds up.
>>
>>152949012
Nta, but episodes where things could end( unsatisfactory, but still an ending) because they weren’t sure if they were getting other seasons. The actual ending was good and a definitive ending thought.
>>
It's Star Trek Voyager but with actual consequences.
>>
>>152949355
then why is the sequel hated
>>
>>152949409
Characters act differently than this show, aesthetic changes people didn't like, slow ongoing plotline that was meant to be binge watched in a time where things were episodic. On it's own it's not a bad show and surprisingly forward thinking in it's approach, but the tone shift was too much for people to deal with
>>
>>152948971
It's one of the best Transformers stories ever told, absolutely mandatory watching for any TF fan, and a cartoon epic par excellence.

>>152949409
Because it fucked up the fantastic characterisation of Beast Wars in a way that really turned off all the fans it had built up AND messed up the original setting it had spent 2 seasons building up. Nevertheless, it's still a pretty good story on its own.
>>
>>152949409
because they told the people making it to ignore the prior series as much as possible

i rewatched as an adult recently while remembering only a few a things about it from when I watched as a kid. It aged like a fine wine even with the early PS2 graphics animation.
>>
>>152948971
Why would a robot need large, hefty, supple boobs?
>>
>>152949968
To store energon, of course. It's just like mana. Are you unfamiliar with how magic and science work?
>>
>>152949252
>>152949283
>>152949914
I rewatched it recently too and got used to the animation pretty fast, the writing was that engaging. Also it reminded me of smashing together actual action figures and I thought that was fun. It was what it needed to be.
>>
>>152950052
Maybe I need to study her energon storage
>>
>>152948971
As a zoomie, yes it is worth but only if you can get over the animation. The story and characters are good.
>>
>>152949252
Yes, but keep in mind when it came out. 3D animation was still new and the best at that time was Toy Story. It's like hating on old Micky Mouse cartoons because they weren't in color.
>>
>>152950054
If people can watch skibidi or Digital circus, they can watch BW. The actual character animation holds up better than the CGI on a lot of mecha anime like the 2000s TF series. They emote very well and have a sense of weight.
>>
>>152950333
The character models in BW are a million times more expressive than those from the Unicron Trilogy even though BW is a decade older
>>
>>152950113
zoom zooms grew up on SFM and minecraft shit on youtube
>>
>>152949047
Canadians made both the best and the worst cartoons I have ever seen, it's quite impressive
>>
>>152948971
It's pretty good but it helps to have a high tolerance for early CG animation. My friend got into TF because of this show and I remember watching it at his house. He was active in the fanbase and went to Botcon every year. To me this was Transformers then. It seems underrepresented in media to me nowadays or maybe its importance is exaggerated in my mind.
>>
>>152950476
>It seems underrepresented in media to me nowadays

It's because Hasbro realized that geewuuners are the biggest buyers so now everything is streamlined to look like G1. The Cyberworld series will have Primal that turns into a trukk and not a munky btw
>>
>>152950524
>trukk not munky
I love Beast Wars but this is as it should be. BW was always an AU show and fits well into a side show, but it is not the Geewunner origin.

I got re-initiated as a transformers fan after Transformers: One and decided to check out some of the tv shows. First I watched some of the original, then all of beast wars, then binged prime and animated

And by far Beast Wars was the best. The writing is just straight up so good. It’s a compelling military drama and an interesting setting with enjoyable characters.

Watching the two sides fight this desperate resource war in a prehistoric Earth, both sides dealing with subordination, subterfuge, and skirmishes is just good TV. The stakes feel a lot more real in this compared to the other shows.

You very quickly forget how primitive the CGI is if that’s what’s putting you off

same for me but with the 86 movie. I'd recommend you check out Masterforce and especially Victory if you haven't already and don't mind a bit of camp

The actual ending was rushed as hell due to them getting cancelled and forced to kill TigerHawk to soon and worse is the way they handle it's dead felt like a damn MCU movie, (eh, wanna come in?), plus seasons 2 and 3 got cut in half to only 13 episodes each and 3 focused more on zany comedy, 2 was the more serious, comparatively.
>>
>>152949409
If Beast Wars tried to be the ameri/Canadian take on an Action Comedy anime (mostly campy shenanigans with some serious moments), Beast Machines attempted to being a Serious Melodrama Anime but didn't succeeded, cause it focused on the worst aspects of those shows with the constant bickering and idiot behavior, specially Evangelion, (the Organic forms were inspired on the EVA Units), sucks because the voice acting was at their peakest and so the CGI technology.
>>
am i alone in thinking season 1 was the best? i liked the show better when they could only stay in robot mode for a certain period of time, it made for some good plots. i'm also not a big fan of the transmetal designs, especially surfboard optimus and dragon megatron (the gold t rex was good though)
>>
>>152951506
Transmetals are overrated when you remember that Dinobot and Rhinox kicked more ass than everyone else
>>
>>152951506
I agree, S1 was best plot-wise. But S2 had some great deep lore.
