It felt flat, and there was a lot of focus on the characters from last season (most of which I didn't care about) and prior plotpoints that I didn't think needed to be reiterated. The couple of fight scenes were also shot poorly with too many cuts. The very last scene of the episode was the only thing I was invested in, and even that excitement was lessened by the fact that a couple of cops got the jump on Matt because he had some weird flashback to Foggy dying. I guess I was expecting more focus on Matt and maybe some more interesting fight choreography.I'm still ready for the episodes next week to be better though. The trailer promised intensity, and I'm ready for it.

Very lackluster 1st episode but hoping things pick up going forward. Matthew Lillard is great as always and Dex continuing to be a ripe cunt even when not onscreen gives me hope.
