I've heard (or in this case, read) some people talking about how Toy Story 3 was somewhat unnecessary. For a while I disagreed with that, but thinking in a non-nostalgic way, I believe those people may have some reason.

The difference between 3 and 4 is that 3 was unnecessary but good, and 4 was bad and unnecessary. What's your opinion? Should Toy Story have ended with the 2nd one? Something I've had since childhood is the impression that the "magic," so to speak, that the first and second films had was lost in the 3rd. Even when I think of "Toy Story" as abstract, I remember Andy's room and everyone else, not bonnie. Maybe it's just me.

But What do you think?

I agree that it wasn't that necessary, but they really wanted to end the franchise once and for all, so they had the idea of separating everyone and giving the remaining toys a new owner. I can't imagine a more definitive ending than that.

My problem with Toy Story 3 was its highly melancholic and depressive tone, although sometimes it works very well (part of the trash), but in general we know that the 4th film is not canonical.
>Bonnie
Extremely generic

3 was a perfect sendoff for the series
all further movies were unnecessary

Personally I think that the 3rd movie was a perfect finale to the franchise and don't find it unnecessary. It wraps up everything nicely and came out at a good time for those who grew up watching the first two as kids, who were approaching Andy's age or were already there, so it had themes that struck a chord with us. I think it should have ended at the third and not gone beyond that except maybe occasional short films staring Woody and the other toys.

I think I agree with you, Anon. I kind of had the same opinion when I was younger I generally didn't watch Toy Story 3 much because that ending always left me a little sad, but I think this was a masterstroke because they created the groundwork to finally end the story there. I think they left that feeling of emptiness intentionally.

That's true, I'm a Zoomer so I didn't identify much with it, but even so it made me a little sad.

My opinion: It's really very different from Toy Story, to the point that sometimes it doesn't even feel like we're watching Toy Story
>>152951682
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think it's what we knew from Toy Story anymore. The third film in the Toy Story franchise is much faster, darker, and more adult than its predecessors, as he said>>152951719 Maybe it's because the fans were already 17/18 years old

No shitheel, 4 and 5 are, end of story

It's a good movie. But Toy Story 3 is terribly overrated by both critics and audiences. Let's face it.

Whether it's crap or not, I didn't see you in the Goomers threads, how about you start your cleanup over there?
>>
>>152951719
They shouldn't made those extra shorts because it was just a slippery slope to get the fourth one greenlighted.

It should have stopped at 2 The toys spend two movies trying to get back to Andy, only for him to donate them in the third movie. It would have been better if Andy had kept the toys for his own son, as Woody says in the third movie it's not like that would be difficult to happen.
>>152951719
Basically, Disney had the idea of exploiting nostalgia the important thing was the money, and it was a great idea I found the story quite weak and completely inferior to the other two films.

I invite you to leave the thread, as your presence is not necessary there are many threads with sexual themes and clearly trolling, since you are a kind of vigilant of low quality threads, you have my support whenever to "flag down" these threads

Actually, the story was different from the other two films and I don't think it fit well into the franchise. Thinking about it, Toy Story 2 works perfectly on its own. It's not necessary to have seen the first one.

In the second movie, Woody didn't save a toy from a garage sale? Seriously, what happened to Bow Peep that he couldn't save his girlfriend?

Toy Story 5 should not exist in any capacity, I have not seen a single real person excited for it

Mr. Tortilla Head was the peak of the franchise.

The film is extremely sentimental and overly appeals to emotions. The toys don't even try to seem remotely alive when they're around humans (note: chatting online with other toys), humans aren't a threat to the toys (Andy will keep them or donate them, which wouldn't harm them).

What was Andy's major?
