Fantasyland was where most IP ended up because Disney animation was stuck in that fairy tale lane for decades, so Adventureland, Frontierland and Tomorrowland were largely defined by original stories within those broader ideas. People say "The original Frontierland was an ad for the Davy Crockett show", but its actually the other way around since when Walt had that Sunday show to promote Disneyland, there wasn't really any westerns in the back catalog to represent Frontierland on the show.While you started seeing more tie-ins when Eisner took over, it was balanced out with park-original rides since it was much safer to do shows and parades for new movies then deciding to fully commit to building a full ride of them since theme parks are a long term investment. Like Countdown to Extinction/Dinosaur was a tie-in, but at the broadest surface level of having a Carnotaurus and an Iguanodon and was more about having an excuse to build a scary dinosaur ride to compete with Jurassic Park down the street.The only parks that get original rides now are the Asian ones and even then, its mostly because of exclusivity contracts.
