I never got why Rocko only had 52 episodes while Rocket Power had 71 episodes and Wild Thornberrys had 91 episodes, because I see a lot more 90s kids be nostalgic for Rocko rather than Rocket Power or Thornberrys
>>152953906Iirc nick really was banking on rocket power being a break out success even though it sucked shit. Same thing when they were betting on catdog being the next big cartoon and were blind sided by spongebobs success instead.
>>152953906Nick likely didn't have the budget or resources back during Rocko's Modern Life's run to afford more than the standard 52 episodes. But also the show was kind of a gamble to begin with since it starred an adult cast. I reckon it would've needed to be YUGE to get renewed for more.
>>152953906Didn’t Joe Murray leave during Season 4? His wife commited suicide.
Literal bot thread, I have seen this exact same op before.

A few months ago I binged Rocko's Modern Life on Paramount+, having been an avid Nickelodeon kiddo back when it originally aired, but not having rewatched ever since like 20 years ago at least.Man, it gave me such a pure blast of nostalgia, that I was captivated and curious about the whole production backstory and surreal themes. Of course as a kid, you miss the overt theme but you subconsciously pick up on it, so as an old man, it really holds up and presents an enlightening perspective. It's got that gonzo outsider energy that is catnip for "90s kids". Since I also grew up in Southern California, the fictional setting and visual flair of the animation felt comfortable and intuitive, I realized just how much influence 90s Nick had on my soul.Having the main character be a young adult well out of the educational system who grapples with adult friendships and jobs and neighbors is big factor that makes it rewatchable today.I tried to watch the reboot movie but got distracted halfway, so I can't attest to it's value as a capstone feature.Shame this is a bot thread, I'd be down to have a chat about Rocko.
