Tokon could be possible since Arc System works said the roster is picked with the idea of what a Japanese owned Marvel would look like. Gurihiru giving Gwen a popularity boost in Japan certainly helps her odds. I won't hold my breath though.

I fucking love this book bros. Christopher Hasting's run on Unbelieveable Gwenpool are probably my favorite comics ever. I think it does a really good way of expressing that like 'Oh yeah ahah I'm going to die anyways' thought that's always in the back of my mind. It's existential, without being super dreadful about it. Gwen is still a lot of fun, she's enjoyable to read, cute, energetic. But the sadness and fear that underlines the quest to not be canceled, even though she knows it's inevitable, hits hard. I'm not going to say it's the best story ever, but it's my personal favorite by a huge margin. I've read the first two issues of the new run, with Dark Gwen or whatever, but don't remember much about them. West Coast Avengers also wasn't my cup of tea, even though she's pretty predominant in it. I don't think any writer has really captured that good balance of happy existential.

I'm waiting for whatever thread officially celebrates its 10th annie to splurge fully but it is one of the best runs I think Marvel's put out in the last 15 years, and while it's disappointing it's only 26 issues that's also somewhat to its advantage in keeping it compact enough to make it an easy read for newcomers. Gwen is a wonderful character, she has a good original cast, and it nicely balances comic hi-jinks, humor, emotions and growth. It even feels oddly timeless because it focuses on things about comics that will never change like the unshakable status quo and editorial interference.
