Of all the episodes that are pure filler, I'd said Season 3 episode 5 was the best one, and Season 4 episode 4 was the worst one. Not sure how to feel about Season 1 episode 4 and Season 2 episode 2 filler-wise.

exactly, thats what Im pissed off about, in this new 8 episode paradigm we are in, every minute of content is precious, and it doesnt help that the writers still want to insert their personal soap boxes and compete with the plot for screen time. one of the shows I mentioned, literally the first 2 episodes completely ignored the set up of the previous season and introduced a bunch of new character no one gives a fuck about, did some half baked oscarbait story line about female empowerment(the show already has like 3 established female characters who basically drive the events of the story so that whole plotline was unnecessary) and then its just fucking drops off and goes back to what we actually want to see. It took until episode 6 for the plot to find it self again and now the season finale is already next week and we dont even get a full hour to try and wrap up all the season 1 questions before I have to wait another 16 more months to get dripfed more content.

IF they still do the Abortion plot, it will be hard for Eve to recover in the eyes of Animation-only.
Given that even with Mark in Space or somesuch, she has a cool Mother-in-law for support, even HER Mom is understanding, and she has great friends.
It could really come off as "Eve killed the baby because she's distressed at losing her powers".

I don't know if it's a problem with direction; J.K. Simmons is obviously a legend so you might think he doesn't need strong direction to deliver a good performance, but his Omni-Man is much more wooden in Mortal Kombat 1 (a game with horrible voice direction all around, check out Megan Fox's performance as Nitara for the worst example) than in the show, so the directors must be doing something right.

For all the criticism this episode brought about, this one really hits it on the head. Most of the cast has nothing to do. Cecil's great, whenever he's not serving as representation for the mentally disabled. Debbie's present. Eve's so bland her powers are the only thing anyone talks about. The Guardians are a pile of nothing now Robot and MG have fucked off, and those two are in for a strange cuckolding story arc. Oliver shifts from encouraging the practicality of killing to condemning it depending on what makes Mark feel worse in any given scene. Mark shines in every season finale but keeps reliving the "people died because of me" arc with subtle changes that amount to nothing. Nolan and Donald carry this mess. I miss my fucking Mauler twins.

the demons think they know everything. they know all this massive history of earth, but they're barely aware of the surface and not remotely aware of outer space. they THINK they know everything, just like fedoras, but they're missing the broader picture. they've "never found a heaven" but they've never even left Earth's atmosphere. There's an 11 page recap from Invincible Returns where Eve has Mark fill her in on what happened on Thraxa, what he knows about Viltrumites, The show may choose not to adapt it but even if it did it's a very short recap, like a couple minutes at max

Then it's just half of Issue 71 which amounts to Nolan and Allen recruiting Tech Jacket, Nolan reunion with Debbie & Oliver, Mark saying goodbye to Eve. Then everyone leaves for space, and the ship gets blown up when Conquest, Lucan, and Randee attack, and then Issue 72 is all Mark, Oliver, Nolan, Tech Jacket, and Allen vs Conquest and the Viltrumites.

All of that will very easily fit into a 50 minute episode
