Venture Bros. is the single most clever show I've seen. Somehow they nail every pop-culture/superhero fusion gimmick expertly.

Trail of the monarch > she-hulk

I'm just going to use this example. 1 episode was better than a whole show about court room in a super hero room. Venture Brothers pointed out how silly it is to take a evil villain and just put him on trail.

She hulk never understood to either embrace the sillyness or take she-hulk as a serious character leading to neither.

All the names were the best names. Radical Left is one of my favourites.
>>

Pretty terrible example to pick. 'Scooby Doo but edgy realism' doesn't really take a lot of creativity. There's a hell of a lot better examples in the series.
>>
>>152969798
That was a good one.
>>
>>152969757
I was hoping she'd appear in season 6 and 7 but she never did after that whole OSI episode where she's working for them now
>>
>>152972796
It's also the one episode not written by them.
>>
>>152972796
That wasn't really "edgy realism". The Groovy Gang were made up of a bunch of real-world serial killers and psychopaths. They were never intended to be realistic. If anything they were intentionally even more over the top than the Scooby Gang.
>>
>>152973149
'Realistic' in the sense of being abstract from the original tone by using adult themes, not in the sense of being an accurate portrayal of anything.

And just because they call Fred 'Ted' because 'ha ha that's like Ted Bundy' doesn't make it a nuanced parody.

Why carry around the artificial womb like this? Was it just so that the awkward "The person who gave birth you loves you, I promise they do" could have a punchline?
>>
>>152975179
>Why carry around the artificial womb like this?
Probably because he wanted something more personal? I mean he could've just done it with the vats from his dad's cloning tech but Rusty probably figured he should carry around the originals himself. There was time enough later for putting clone slugs in the vats for their eventual really big boo-boos they'd be getting later when he'd start taking them adventuring.

Blind Rage is one of my favorites. Shame he was only in one episode.

One of my favorite bits is Captain Sunshine dropping off Monarch to a jail... and they just let him leave because he hasn't even been arrested.

Just the christmas songs. This one was Red Mantle and Dragoon.

Which I like them cause theyre Buddy Holly/Big Bopper and when they died IRL that inspired American Pie by Don McLean.

What was JJ's deal with the investors? He just kinda seemed to die without them doing anything for him.
>>
>>152978373
They invested in him, all that money tech and power and wanted control of venture industries. Killinger kills them, JJ dies, Rusty gets the company
>>
>>152978401
Well, that does explain how the little midget somehow earned two doctorates (something that would normally take 8 years, ignoring the fact that even qualifying for the studies requires at least a GED and six years of university education beforehand) in a month and then creating the single most successful tech company in no time.
>>
>>152975179
The writers probably had no idea (this was probably a reference to that awful Schwarzenegger movie) but babies can hear things inside the womb. It drives mental development before they even have conscious thought
>>
Where can I watch Venture Bros now? Kizzc@rt00n?

So do aliens exist in the Venture Bros universe or not? Thunderbolt Cotton's insistence that he should go to aliens for a cancer cure seems like it was intended to be a delusion but it is otherwise a superhero universe where literally anything can happen, so...?
>>

>Well, that does explain how the little midget somehow earned two doctorates (something that would normally take 8 years, ignoring the fact that even qualifying for the studies requires at least a GED and six years of university education beforehand
You have to take into account that much of the learning bed shit Rusty went through as a child probably got absorbed by JJ. And also Tijuana exists. Which is how Rusty got his.
>and then creating the single most successful tech company in no time.
It's not like JJ didn't have at least SOME startup capital. We already know he dismantled the X-2. It's likely that also ran on plutonium and he could've sold that to start up the company. I think the Investors came in to fund the construction of Garganua-2.

Did you not see Twenty Years to Midnight?
>Thunderbolt Cotton's insistence that he should go to aliens for a cancer cure seems like it was intended to be a delusion
It is. But that doesn't mean they don't exist. Just that he's got the wrong ideas.
>>
>>152978562
>Did you not see Twenty Years to Midnight?
Yeah, I forgot that in the moment but in my defense:
1. The show retconned shit all the time and that could have been cover story, like the Sovereign not actually being Bowie despite all the implication that he was.
2. The show otherwise seemed to keep aliens out of it even when they were homaging alien characters, Brainulo is clearly meant to be a Brainiac parody but anything about aliens is absent despite Brainiac's alien origin literally being the only aspects the billion retcons and revisions to Brainiac nobody ever really fucked with (except Gods and Monsters kinda but that whole thing was all about fucking with expectations of the characters).

>The show retconned shit all the time
Not really. Venture Bros reputable for being insanely consistent. People know about Doc and Jackson's "big board".
>and that could have been cover story
Doubtful.
>The show otherwise seemed to keep aliens out of it even when they were homaging alien characters
That has less to do with homaging alien characters than it does homaging franchises/series. Much like how Afterburner is based on Snake Eyes. He's not an homage to ninjas, he's a homage to G.I. Joe.

Why did Billy have sex with Hatred if he's not actually gay but just mistaken for gay because he has a roomate?

You can watch the entirety of seasons 1-5 on the Adult Swim site. 6 and 7 only have a piecemeal collection of episodes, so you'd have to go elsewhere for those and the movie.
