Why did the comics of The Amazing World of Gumball flop? Comics based on cartoons are never a big hit but Adventure Time, Teen Titans GO, Rick and Morty, the horse show and others had comics with relatively long runs and decent sales. So, what went wrong with Gumball?
>>152976544The mixed media visual appeal is basically entirely absent
>>152976544Were they supervised OR AT LEAST CHECKED by the show's creator? I'm still yet to watch more than just a few seasons of Gumball, but if none of the events in the comics matter, I won't bother reading.
>>15297679495% of the events in the show don't matter
>>152976544Feels like something that should only be sold at book fairs. Book fair money is the real deal.
>>152976705The mixed media isn't really important or even relevant most of the time. And they could substitute it with different, cool artstyles in every issue
>>152976860The other 5% does. Will the comic events be even 0.01% relevant and mentioned in the show?
>>152976893>The mixed media isn't really important or even relevant most of the timeIt's about fulfilling the idea of what Gumball is versus what it actually is. The comic not being able to create a unique visual identity is a huge problem.> And they could substitute it with different, cool artstyles in every issueThat probably would have been a good solution.
>>152977123>The comic not being able to create a unique visual identity is a huge problem. You are like one of those producers who demand characters be redesigned for sequels. Give Gumball an afro. Why? Unique visual identity for a different medium.
>>152977157>Give Gumball an afroI wouldn't suggest that.
>>152976929Why would you want everything to be part of the same continuity? A gumball that isn't related to the main should could be interesting or even better. Depends on the writers
>tfw gumball wasn't cool enough to be part of the party
I wish gumball threads weren't so dead
>>152976544>why did nobody want to read a comic based on a retarded tranny show for faggotsIt's a mystery
>>152976544there were comics?
Reminder that Teri is canonically a tranny
>>152976544The American comic book industry is in the shitter.
>>152978349Nope, stfu
>>152978053Stfu, projecting faggot
>>152976544It’s because Gumball attracted a younger audience than like Adventure Time or something. Gumball’s audience does not read comics. The majority of Gumball’s fanbase was kids, there wasn’t much adult overlap. Even now, it’s popular on hulu with kids. Like Gumball’s audience is more childish compared to other fanbases. They wouldn’t have been reading those.
>>152976544>Comics based on cartoons are never a big hitI always thought that was weird, at least with stuff as big as spongebob, adventure time, and others. I only remember horse show having some really nice official comics people enjoyed.
Because it's a comicSimple as
>>152979025No
>>152979025Kids are retarded, but they can still be interested in comics if they're good
>>152978893Ok but how do you explain the TTG comics?
