It was specifically Generation-X, not X-Men proper, so the lineup roughly follows the Generation-X lineup of the time. Blonde chick is Emma Frost, goatee guy is supposed to be Banshee, bottom right is supposed to be Jubilee. Chamber and Husk couldn't be done on a TV budget, so they were subbed out for OC's Refrax and Buff.

Funny enough, Hatley Castle was used for the X-Mansion for the first time in this pilot, and would later be used in the other X-Men films proper.

I think Husk could have been done but would cost a lot in the practical effects department. Remember V? They had aliens that would tear away at their skin to reveal a lizard underneath.

V was a much bigger deal when it came out, it was a TV miniseries event. Generation-X was ultimately a TV movie of the week to fill a timeslot, and not having a genuine adaptation of the proper X-Men team prior to it's release left it DoA. If the initial timeline for the X-Men movie had stuck to its early 90's release, maybe it would have done okay and had a larger budget allocated for it.

De Niro would've been too old even then, but I like the idea of Biehn as Cyclops. They also had Rutger Hauer as Magneto, which would've been good as well.

Trick question: that's Generation X, not the regular X-Men! I saw it when I was a kid. Without looking it up or checking other comments, here's what I remember: top row was their new OC villain played by Matt Frewer on the left, followed by Banshee and White Queen. Second row was M, followed by another OC named Buff (presumably 'cause they didn't have the budget for Husk's power), and then probably Mondo? Bottom row is Skin, some other OC whose name I don't remember, and then Jubilee.
