Let's have a Disney Renaissance appreciation thread for once.

Shrek did better at the domestic box office than almost all the Disney Renaissance movies, with the sole exception being Lion King
I always loved the posters.
>>152987341Honestly, the animation in Shrek still amazes me to this day.yeah it looks dated, but given how ambitious some of the shots are, and how many simulations they managed to pull off before Pixar, I'm honestly more impressed with it than I am Monsters Inc.>>152987031God, I think the only one I ever saw in theaters was Brother Bear, and it was the most "That was a movie" there was. Literally the only things I remember from it are the bit with the goat arguing with his echo, and those Happy Meal toys.
>>152986874i will never forgive them for silencing my father
The colors in Aladdin, Lion King, Pochahontas, Hunchback are so fucking good. It's like they magically improved after Beauty and the Beast so much.
>>152986874>every night time / low light shot in Aladdin
>>152987341>>152988235I'll never understand how this is dated. It still looks amazing and better then Illumination and Disney crap.
>>152986874Aladdin has the best soundtrack of any Disney movie.
>>152988235Brother bear has some amazing moments, on par with lion king. The backgrounds are also gorgeous.
>>152986874I can hear this image
Shrek and Toy Story killed 2D animation.
>>152989529Aaron Blaise is REALLY good at drawing bears. Every one of them looks and feels different, despite being same species.I still really love the animation in Tarzan. The anatomical work has yet to be surpassed and the shot of Tarzan lifting Sabor's body overhead has some of the best physics. You can feel the exact vectors of tension in every muscle and the weight and fluidity in the dead cat's weight. It's palpable in a way no other shot may ever be in a Disney movie.
>>152986874Pocahontas has a lot of style, I also love savages as a song.
