Why do so many anons on this board seem to be completely ignorant concerning how animation is actually made? It feels like hardly anyone here actually researches the medium they consume daily, despite there being a plethora of resources available.

we know about it, we just don't like thinking about it, because it's depressing
>>
>>152989716
Because most people on this board (and the internet in general) are incredibly stupid.
>>
>>152989716
This board is primarily made up of consumers, not creators or even proper enthusiasts.
>>
>>152989716
Post some of those resources and start talking about what interests you about how animation is made.
>>

I watched a making-of documentary of an anime movie a few days ago, and seeing how hard the process is made me think I'm not built for it
>>

Genuine art requires some pain and sacrifice on the way to making it. It's worth it in the end, though, being able to make something that might be loved by many, and will continue to provide entertainment long after you're gone.
>>
>>152989716
I'm not sure most "animators" know how animation is made.
>>

A question for clarification: is this a runs about way for you to say you think modern U.S.A. slop animation shouldn't be criticized at all because the storyboarders have a "hard job" despite animation being a hundred times easier now than it was from 1930-2006-ish and yet the people who did more work for less made better creations or are you getting at something else?

/co/ has always struck me as being the media board that appreciates it’s medium the absolute least, they’re obsessed with the end result as a pseudo-drug to turn their brain off with and don’t particularly care about the process no matter how many behind-the-scenes visuals and explanations are given
>>
>>152989716
After the hack a lot of anons who gave a shit bailed to other imageboards, websites, discord groups or made their own imageboards instead. What you have now are aggressive autists and violent schizo's who absolutely despise the medium they supposedly care about while also refusing to lend a hand in fixing it or making something themselves. Just a bunch of guys who want shit and think they're owed it
Only a handful of anons who give a shit are still around but the numbers are dwindling, probably
>>
>>152990226
Which movie?
>>
>>152989716
>please argue about this sweeping generalization I'm making about everyone here without presenting any evidence for it
Why are you such a complete faggot, OP? It feels like you can't stop sucking the cocks you consume daily, despite there being a plethora of vaginas available.
>>
>>152989716
Most people who watch TV shows have no idea how they're made, or movies for that matter. It's the whole reason idea guys exist.
>>152991133
NTA, but it doesn't really matter IMO. I've watched several and it's pretty much always the same story - intense work, long hours, hard crunch at the end.

>After the hack a lot of anons who gave a shit bailed to other imageboards
this isn't true at all
>>

this is the answer

people on this board don't create anything. They don't draw, they don't make music, they probably can't even write without chat GPT, all they can do is consume consume consume.
because of this, they have zero empathy/sympathy with those who DO create, and not just animation but virtually anything. The idea of making something that others enjoy is so beyond most /co/ posters that the work that goes into things never crosses their mind.
these are people who eat a burger and don't think at all about the people who made it, or the farmers who grew it, or the delivery people who shipped it, etc.
Zero sonderous empathy

I'd say the only people who do give even a slightest modicum of a fuck, probably got all they know about the animation process from the highly produced disney dvd extras
>>
>>152992062
yea okay
>>
>>152992062
But if they did then where?

Duuude disney movies are all made with computers now, there's barely any actual effort involved
