There were some season 4 episodes that were good like Wishing You Well. I thought for some time that it was a season 3 or season 2 episode. It's a bit weird because I didn't like and still not like All that Glitters and never saw that one as anything other than a season 4 episode.

Helps that the first two movies were directed by the showrunners of each era (SB1 was Hillenburg, SB2 was Tibbitt) so it's easier to trace certain ideas carried over from the show's run. Even though SB4 had some of Waller's staff, I'd love to see what a 2D Waller-directed SpongeBob movie would look like.
