Set in the timeframe when Gambit returned Storm to what was left of the X-Men, discover how Gambit came to join the team for the first time – and the deadly trial that made it so! Someone’s got mutants in their crosshairs down in New Orleans… and when they hire Bullseye to target Gambit, hang on for the most kinetic showdown of the month!
>The series continues Marvel’s line of retro stories that expand on Claremont’s long history with the franchise, following projects like Wolverine and Kitty Pryde, X-Treme X-Men, and a previous Gambit miniseries. Claremont describes the character’s appeal as rooted in contradiction, a man split between hero and thief, which makes this period of his life especially rich for storytelling.>“Getting the chance to work on a Gambit book with Chris was a complete surprise, and it continues to be a surreal experience,” Gill said. “Chris’s name is iconic and one that surrounded my early days of reading comics. I’ve always thought Gambit was one of the coolest and mysterious X-Men characters, and despite more than eight years drawing comics for Marvel, I’ve almost never drawn him… until now!”>The debut issue features a main cover by Leinil Francis Yu, along with Wanted poster-style variants by Phil Noto. GAMBIT: WANTED #1 arrives this July

>>152994017Uh oh. Is this him returning to retcon Gambit's origin to be something like his Sinister clone idea, a Summers brother, or something else?
ah yes because we really need more x-books right now
>>152994958At least it's an X-book people might actually want
>>152994958BRINGBACKTHE GAS
>>152994017Claremont is still alive?
>>152994498He got this out of his system in X-Men Forever, they're not going to let him retcon his origin in a mini hardly anyone's going to read.
>>152995274The internet gas?
>>152994017Claremont is Woke so knowing him he’s going to make it so Gambit has two dads now.
>>152994017Why are they so allergic to let Gambit have a current timeframe mini or ongoing? Why are they always putting him in the past? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's at least getting content, God knows there's a lot of characters that don't even get things like this, but I feel like you could tell good stories with who he is now over who he used to be and they never do
