Saturday morning 80s cartoons. What's favorite? Which one(s) would you recommend to someone starting out as great examples of the "80s style"? Which ones are most missable? >He-Man and the Masters of the Universe>G. I. Joe>Transformers>Voltron>Thundercats>Silverhawks>Tigersharks>Jem>Gobots>Bravestarr>Mighty Orbots>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles>Visionaries
>>152995058Personally I'd recommend Thundercats. It has some of the most unique characters and an interesting far-future science fantasy setting.
>>152995058>VisionariesOh wow, I rarely see this one on anyone's list. It's a lot more obscure than most of the others, which is a shame because it's actually really good.
>>152995498The trials of magic was a great introduction story but the action figure-standard-recharge-vehicle toyetic fusion is too heavy-handed, even for a kid's show. I really like how the evil guys are representations of bad personality aspects (like greed, anger, cowardice) and really lean into it with their powers, weapons and standards.
These are some mustsAlvin and the ChipmunksInspector GadgetThe Real GhostbustersHeathcliff
>>152995798>Inspector GadgetApart from the loli, what's so good about this show? It just seems like silly episodic hijinks.
>>152995498>>152995734It's funny hearing the same voice actors in Visionaries as in Transformers. Like, here's the bearded warrior but actually he's STARSCREAM in disguise!
>>152995734>the original orb gazer>heart laser>never gonna stop gazin'>king-glazin'
>>152995058>G. I. Joe>TransformersThese two were the best made ones from what ive seen and i prefer gi joe as it had cooler plots and better writing and cobra commander is one of my favorite characters of all time
>>152995058Most of these weren’t Saturday morning but were syndicated weekdays instead.
>>152995058More like Shaturday Boring Cartoons
>>152995058I wish toons could still look like this
>>152997016Really? I watched several of these on Saturday mornings as a kid. Maybe we were in a different syndication zone.
>>152995734The bad guys are a real treat in this show. If they could get along, the good guys wouldn't stand a chance... but it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining.
>>152995058The first five titles in your post are considered the greats of the decade. TMNT started. in the 80's but really hit its stride into the early 90's, alongside the massive success of the movie. Considering all the titles you already noted I'd only add Captain N the Game Master, Thundarr, and Muppet Babies. Muppet Babies especially gets overlooked nowadays because Disney buried the show over legal disputes. Also worth noting>Gobots is much better than people give it any credit for. >Rambo The Force of Freedom is such a great GI Joe clone it might actually be better than ARAH>Wuzzles is the best looking Care Bears copycat>Ruby Spears is generally overlooked for no good reason
Jem is really, really good
>>152995815NTA but that is literally it. The wacky adventures of bionic Inspector Clouseau and his cute niece and dog. It's a fun watch but it can be too repetitive if you aim to marathon it. Same with Beetlejuice TAS.
>>152996697All the sunbow shows suffer from that quirk unfortunately. It's especially jarring in Inhumanoids. >Optimus Prime is a tree>Starscream is a rotting skeleton demon>Megatron is both the big bad CEO guy and the inhumanoid great evil imprisoned within the center of the earth
>>152997193Same here. I think it would genuinely mindbreak modern animators to produce something this pleasant to look at. Over the years a dozen shows with the aims to mock the aesthetics of the era have come and gone, and none of them ever look right. Major Laser, Saturday Morning All Star Hits, Community, etc etc. They always fail at nailimg these aesthetics.
>>152998730>InhumanoidsThere's one I've never seen but I'll check it out now. Huh, there's a "remastered" version on yt but it looks like someone just upscaled the 360p version using ai. Ugly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frHspm5kYYM
>>152995058I'd go with Dungeons and Dragons for a general recommendation, Bravestarr or C.O.P.S. for a toyline series, and Jem as a conditional recommendation.
>>152999543Why conditional?
>>152999494It's honestly a shame it didnt pan out beyond the 13 episodes because I adore every second of that show. The fact that the toys are so fragile and rare these days hurts me alot too. Inhumanoids is just too based for this gay earth and they had to old yeller the series early. If you have the time I cant recommend it enough. For years now people have discussed the rights issues behind the show. It is largely believed that Marvel retained a bigger share of the rights than Hasbro. Recently however I've seen some argue we're approaching the expiry date for alot of those copyrights. Others insisting they may have expired already. It'd be interesting to see somebody just throw caution to the wind and make something with these characters again.
>>152998678>Gobots is much better than people give it any credit forYes, but most people give it credit for a 3/10 show while in reality it's a 6/10 show. >Rambo The Force of Freedom is such a great GI Joe clone it might actually be better than ARAHI find this hard to believe and would need proof.
I was watching Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors recently. It's a decent show, cool setting of evil plant-bioweapons, average voice-acting and characters, terrible and weird vehicles that make no sense. Best part is the weird space locations and monsters they encounter, it's like a bizarre space opera.
M.A.S.K. can be fun but it's a slog to marathon through especially when you realize that it honest to god does not have character focus episodes
>>153000599The girl Flora is a cutie though.
>>152998685I wish Hasbro would do some Jem figures as an offshoot of their GI Joe Classified line.
>>152995815>It just seems like silly episodic hijinks.sometimes thats enough
Repostan my thoughts from a similar thread years back>TransformersAnimation error galore but still a fun timeNot my favorite iteration of the series but I can get the appeal to those who value it nostalgiacally>GI JoeEnjoyed it a lot more than I thought I did when I first saw it on the Hub years backShipwreck is the best JoeChris Latta was a treasure>TMNTI grew up on 2003 and 2012 TMNT so a lot of what I enjoyed from them weren't in this iterationHaven't seen every episode but what episodes I did see weren't agony at worst it was kind of dullSome genuinely decent jokes here and therehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_R1ZYp2M8EOn paper I should hate their depiction of Casey Jones but I don't, even if he's far less important compared to how he usually is he's still a delight whenever he does show up>ThundercatsFun ideas, wasn't keen on some of the voice acting directionNot much to say, haven't seen too much of it>VoltronJFC this aged badlyThe voice and sound direction feel incredibly awkwardLiterally just watch Golion, it's not even that good compared to other mecha anime at the time but at least the gore is hilariously over the top and the sound direction doesn't make bog down the fight>MotUEnjoyed it a lot more than I thought I wouldYes the animation is recycled a lotYes Filmation He-Man is nowhere near the badass rose-tinted nostalgia glasses would suggestYes the dude is such a huge pacifist he'd make Steven Universe blushBut I can't say I didn't like what I sawIt's kind of just....comfy and how it genuinely tries it best to leave a positive impression for kids with a show funded to sell toys (that were cynically made even for the standards at the time)>Scooby-DooIt's Scooby-Doo, it's not the greatest thing in the world and later installments outclass it in many regards like Zombie Island or Mystery Inc but I still have a soft spot for the show that started it all
>VisionariesIncredibly underrated to be honestI love the premise, the setting, and the character dynamics between the Spectral Knights and Darkling Lords whether it's among themselves or against each otherThe TMS sakuga aged like fine wine and while I do think it's a shame the toyline bombed and the show ended on one season, I kind of sort of feel that might've been the best in the long runI like the opposing factions for their limited rosters fleshing every if not at least almost every knight involved the same way I appreciate Transformers Beast Wars and Animated having smaller primary casts compared to their respective toylines (especially in Beast Wars' case)The addition of more knights likely would've just bloated the rosterAlso Leoric's staff was fucking bullshit
>>153001964>Shipwreck is the best Joe>Chris Latta was a treasure
>>152998678Gobots is actually great and pretty funny I watched it at like 2am one night and I really enjoyed it.
>>153002156Gobots is really fun and I resent geewunners for spitting all over its good name.
>>153000305https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eVk_fi4lhus&pp=ygUMcmFtYm8geWFtYXRv0gcJCdsKAYcqIYzvIn the episode this clip is from S.A.V.A.G.E. raises the sunken husk of the Yamato and turns it into what amounts to a nuclear powered technodrome. The episode is only 20 minutes long and yet they perfectly capture the pacing of an 80's action flick. Best of all is watching Rambo sink it again just by launching a mortar shell into one of its chimneys.
>>153002156>>153002227I was enjoying watching Gobots until I read the 2019 comic and then I was scarred for life.
>>153002273
>>153000599>terrible and weird vehicles that make no sense. The toys themselves were an ugly mishmash of features, at least the bad guy ones.>Best part is the weird space locations and monsters they encounter, it's like a bizarre space operaYeah that's pretty much it. They didn't even develop the monster minds into secondary characters, They're just there. And the plots. When the old wizard isn't pulling spells out of his ass, it's the magic ring ex machina, which they then proceed to forget about for most of the later episodes.
>>153002273Y'know for as much as I enjoyed that comic it is sort of depressing that's the only time we've seen these characters revived in any official sense since the cartoon and original toyline ended. You'd think hasbro would just buy the original show and really cash in on the ip they own, but they rather just offer lazy repaints of existing transformers.
>>153002264Swiping a page from Starblazers/Space Battleship Yamato.
>>153002322The toys are fun but man does the cartoon write a check they cannot cash
you know what i miss from the late 80s / early 90s? hologramsthose things used to be everywhere, but now i cant remember the last time id seen one. those silly red/blue 3d glasses seem to come back much more often
>>153002380Holorgrams, regular looking guns that fire lasers, and oddly optimistic interpretations of the early internet. You cant beat them.
>>153002380Yeah, that was Visionaries' whole gimmick. They're still doing color-change though.
>>152995305Apparently this got a German blu ray release recently
>>153002655Sweet. Remastered? Upscaled? Improved?
>>152995058It's impossible to find good rips, but if you could then I would recommend Kidd Video season 2 above most everything. The Alf series was actually pretty good too. But majority of 80s toy cartoons are really not that great and don't hold up for adults well. Thundercats, Jem, and first season TMNT are about as good as it gets. Gummi Bears has stunningly good quality. I would always recommend Duck Tales and Alvin and the Chipmunks, but the first couple seasons of that are much lower quality. It gets much better.>>152998678you wold think Disney owning both Muppets and Star Wars it might be possible to uncover that show again some day.
>>153002734I think it's upscaled. Looks ok https://youtu.be/bNtewzqDVqIhttps://youtu.be/AJ8JTKZjD9Uhttps://youtu.be/-hNa1BHuZ_4
>>153002876Yeah you'd think. It goes to show how retarded and inept the company is. You'd think they would be digging through couch cushions for spare change to recoup their losses by releasing more physical media too but that isnt happening either.
>>153002940That's pretty good! Usually upscaling improves line sharpness and detailing at the expense of tonal shading, but this works well. Still, lost a bit of color saturation... although maybe that's more true to the original 80s tapes.
>>153002876Did teens really used to dress like this?
>>153004473Yeah, teens used to dress very extra retarded n the 80s. Suspenders and ties were a thing for a while. Along with Wolverine hair.
>>152995058Somebody already mentioned Thundarr, my favorite of the 80s cartoons.. A little-known and underrated one I like is Spiral Zone. I missed it when it aired -- I don't think it even aired in my area, and it was only on for a short time. Shame, because it's pretty cool. It's a G.I. Joe styled military action show, but with a cool sci-fi setup, and an awesome intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO2Cd9tyUvYA fun thing about it is, the setup neatly explains a couple of standard G.I. Joe style cartoon tropes: both the reason why most combats are between a small group of colorful heroes and villains, and also why everybody uses non-lethal weapons. It's basically a limited engagement, cold-war style, where neither side can afford to field very many individuals (though the villain can send out tons of mind-controlled people inside the Spiral Zone, they're not very effective without intelligent commanders, and they can't be sent outside the zone) and where both sides want the other alive, or at least not to push them to the point of escalation.
>>153004473That kind of bad fashion was hip in the early 80s, but it went by pretty quickly and most people didn't dress like that
>>152995305Ya i always like it better than He Man. It had a better variety of foes for them to fight and actially fealt like there was a whole planet to explore. I just wish some of the more interesting one offs like the Demolisher had gotten more episodes to flesh them out.
>>153003128Thanks to this I just realized Wilykat has been subliminally flashing everyone for decades
>>153005116How are upskirts interesting when they were all naked in the pilot?
>>152995305>Personally I'd recommend Thundercats. It has some of the most unique characters and an interesting far-future science fantasy setting. The soundtrack is kick-ass, too. Every character, including the ThunderTank, has their own theme music!>>153003128>>153005116Looks like they're losing some of the color saturation, original brush strokes, and grain, but trading it for sharpness and less compression than the old DVDs.>>153000599>Jayce and the Wheeled WarriorsAnother show with a kick-ass theme song.>>153000599>terrible and weird vehicles that make no senseMy mother got me Saw Boss, back in the day. It's actually a pretty cool little toy, in person.>>153001160>Flora is a cutieYes. Yes, she is.
>>153002380Apparently they're expensive to make
>>153002380I remember when card sets used to have those ultra rare hologram cards that were like 2 to a box.
>>153004604Ah, okay.
>>152999615Why were inhumanoids toys so damn fragile anyways? And how did marvel obtain so much rights over inhumanoids when they didnt on the other hasbro cartoons?
>>153007104Diminishing Returns on resources being used up on Transformers and G.I. Joe
>>153007104As I understand it not all the toys were fragile, just the big bads like tendrill and d'compose. The passage of time has made things even worse. >how did marvel obtain so much rights over inhumanoids when they didnt on the other hasbro cartoons? They retained all the rights to the ip from the publication of the comics and working on the sunbow cartoon after hasbro failed to renew their share of the ownership.
>>153007104>Why were inhumanoids toys so damn fragile anywaysI suspect it's because they were very rounded and organic, meaning parts didn't have sharp angles and edges that could fit together for support. Making molds for rounded, blobby things is much harder than hard-edged stuff. It requires much more joint support and if that wasn't factored into the design the bits will break off more easily.
>152995058Of the ones listed here are my ratings:>He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - 9/10, extremely cool setting, neat unique characters, great voice-acting>G. I. Joe - 9/10, good animation, good VA, interesting stories>Transformers - 10/10, stellar VA, great stories, unique and deep characters, decent animation>Voltron - 8/10, great animation, neat characters, good stories>Thundercats - 9/10, good animation, cool setting, great VA, great stories>Silverhawks - 8/10, cool space opera setting, good animation, interesting stories, so-so VA>Tigersharks - 7/10, decent animation, interesting characters, somewhat poor stories and writing>Jem - haven't seen yet>Gobots - 6/10, stiff animation, decent stories, so-so VA>Bravestarr - 7.5/10, cool setting, good stories, average VA, good animation>Mighty Orbots - 8/10, great animation, good VA, good stories>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - not seen yet>Visionaries - 7/10, good animation, interesting unique characters, good stories, poor VA
Check out Defenders of the Earth
>>153007104>>153007361Season 1 and 2 Transformers were pretty damn fragile too. There is a reason why the later ones were basically plastic bricks that the transforming process is laying them down.
>>152995058He-Man is the GOAT.
>>153005324damn i wonder what changedback in the day i remember 3d holograms in kids meal toys, 3d hologram stickers cards and bookmarks, shit was just everywhere
>>153010497You need specialized machines to build them, and those eventually break and if sales don't justify building new ones, then you no longer have the manufacturing capacity to make them on a large scale for cheap anymore. Visionaries was partly an attempt to find an ongoing market for hologram-based toys as the market for hologram stuff was shrinking, because the initial novelty had worn off.
>>153002876>It's impossible to find good rips, but if you could then I would recommend Kidd Video season 2 above most everything. In a perfect world this would be the most ideal answer. Kidd Video had cool teens, music videos, 80s music, a superstrong fairy in legwarmers, and the animation was pretty good.
>>153002876Robbie Ritz, the VA who voiced the dude with the glasses, said Kidd Video was by far the weirdest project he's worked on. This the guy who was Cousin Oliver, starred on Sharknado, and voiced Choji on Naruto.
>>153010540At least Visionaries got a short lived cartoon. Air Raiders didn't even get that.
>>153009559You'd like Jem it has a lot of the same people from GI Joe and Transformers on it.
>>153011268I had no idea Cousin Oliver was ChojiThis feels like a weird clashing of timelines
>>152995058for me? its Galaxy Rangers
>>153002876Kidd Video and Alvin and the Chipmunks are both sunk because of music licensing which is too bad since I really liked the chipmunks (I barely remember Kidd Video)
>>153005214Because for the rest of the show they basically ignore that
Alf cartoon easily surpasses the live action show which is a pretty cheesy family sitcom with a puppet. The Fil Barlow style for the backgrounds/designs still look amazing and the more sci fi adventure stories are more interesting than Alf hanging out on Earth annoying some suburban family.Should have had Alf go back to his planet at the end of the series and just say "hey we were just kidding ...the planet didn't blow up...it was just a prank"
>>153012933There are some great episodes here and a good long-term storyline, but I couldn't get over the goofy voices.
>>153002876wonder If fans could do some Ai upscaling on this since the owners of the cartoon will never release it anyways (because of the song rights)
>>153012933Would you look at this...
>>153012933badass
>>153012933They had the coolest cyberhorses.
>>153015232
>>153015238
>>153015247
>>152995058I'm not a boomer dunno
>>153010497>>153010540When they first came out in the early 80s, people were paying hundreds for mural sized framed holograms of birds and tree branches.
>>153013068>The Fil Barlow style for the backgrounds/designs still look amazing and the more sci fi adventure stories are more interesting than Alf hanging out on Earth annoying some suburban family. That was pretty standard among most DiC cartoons at the time. Captain N and Kidd Video also had the same surreal background art.
>>153017339Those look like 90s/00s video games. Wild.
Does The Mysterious Cities of Gold count?
>>153017587Dunno, tell us about it.
>>153017587Yeah it counts, '80s-era Franco-Japanimation is some of the best TV out there
>>152995815silly episodic hijinks ARE good, you fucking joyless moron.
>>153018669>'80s-era Franco-JapanimationTrue, and speaking of, this is also a fantastic hidden gem, although it does suffer somewhat from having a very limited main cast (basically just 4).
80s was such a dead era for TV animation. 95% of it were 25 minute commercials for toy lines. About the only thing good was Real Ghostbusters, and only the early seasons before ABC got their hands on it (the ones where they redesigned Janine and made Slimer the star). If you're willing to expand to anime, try Dirty Pair or City Hunter. Most Dirty Pair eps are on Youtube and City Hunter is on Pluto and, I think, Tubi.
>>153020090Looks cool as heck
>>153013091Fans do not even have all the episodes ripped. One is missing, and another is the Israeli rip with dubs.
>>153020474It was worlds better than everything that came before. Even the cheaper crappier shows in the 80s looked and sounded so much better than any cartoon of the 60s and 70s. Smurfs and Snorks just plain looked better than any episodic 70s cartoon. And most of the toy commercials were a few steps above visually.
>>153012152The dude was a common sight on 70's tv. Remember was Dr. Z on 80's Galactica. Rist was the kind child actor that one would think would go bad but didn't. He's been show business for years and he credits his mom for shielding him from the worst that Hollywood can dish out.
>>153020474Cool story Zoomer.
>>152995058Maxie's World is terrific. It's a shame they fucked up the audio for the DVD release.
>written by Flint Dille>everywhere, on every cartoonDid this guy write half the cartoon shows in the 1980s?!?
>>152999571At its core Jem is a soap opera which isn't to all tastes and personally I find quite a few episodes rather boring.
>>153002876Kidd Video is pretty much a mid '80s time capsule: everything about the show pegs it as being from that exact era. Fashions, music, art and writing styles. Far as episode quality goes, a lot of them aren't great but at least all of them have been found. I never thought I'd get to watch any complete version of Race to Popland for instance.
Inhumanoids is so weird and gross. It's like they wanted to make a slimey horror show but... FOR KIDS 6-12!!!
>the love to rape you>that's why they have hearts in their mouths
>>153024855That is precisely why I love it and wish it had been a bigger success. I wish we lived in the universe where Inhumanoids, Big Guy and Rusty, Megas XLR, Motorcity, The Maxx, and Tron Uprising were such successes that they dictated the direction of pop culture.
>>153023740Do you think it was just another random nom de plume a dozen guys used? Charls Nichols was just as common between the 30's and 70's.
>>153025957Nah, he was a real guy, very popular script writer in the 80s and 90s:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_Dilleand "Flint Dille" doesn't make for any interesting anagrams.
>>153005116>>153003128The show was shot on film, supers and credits included, couldnt they just restore that on a true HD scan?
>>153012933
>>152995058well, i was there when they aired. they didnt have much depth. cant really appreciate them that much once you arent a child anymore usually. cool concepts stick with you but lack of depth leaves no reason to watch it.so even though that's my generation, i can't say i have a favorite. because the 90s rolled around and i started watching 90s anime, which was peak imo, and i left shallow western cartoons behind.
>>153020090>Ulysses! No one else can do the things you do!The song would have been perfect if they'd just said "no one".
>>153026655Rock on, dub dubs, rock on.
>>153007673>tendrill and d'composeIs it the rubber in the vines and guts? I don't think Metlar had any soft parts.
We're boomers now.
>>153028204IT'LL HAPPEN TO (YOU)
>>153026655>It's a Doc raps and breakdances episodeDon't remember Niko singing but most of the musical numbers except Tortuna Rock were literally cringe inducing.
>>153013068I agree, Alf The Animated Series was better than the family sitcom. But what did you think of Alf Tales? https://youtu.be/03_NqJFVEOc?si=_2lVu1dsn_Q412Xf
>>152995058Not particularly the "style of the time", but also give them a shotThe Real GhostbustersSaber RiderRainbow BriteBeverly Hills TeensLady LovelylocksPunky BrewsterMy Little Pony (+Tales)>>152999543Good picks>>152999615I thought nobody even knew who had the rights now. Back in 2010 or so looked like they were sort of trying to bring back the franchise as Primordia, but unfortunately that didn't pan out apparently.>>153000646In season 2 if I recall there were a few character episodes. Of course by then they were already on the finish line for syndication, as usual, and the show somehow had turned into Wacky Races.
>>153025943Didn't you kinda get your wish in the 90s, though? There were Mighty Max, Mutant League, Skeleton Warriors, Garbage Pail Kids...Even in the 80s Spiral Zone >>153004588 was already treading the line, too
>>153030361Yes and no. Alot of the shows I mentioned came and went. Most wouldnt linger for longer than a year or two. It's been a sharp decline ever since 2014.
>>153027767Not just the rubber and the guts, but the very plastic their bodies and limbs are composed of. It becomes heinously brittle with the passage of time, which is why even Metlar isnt safe from the same material degredation. If there was ever a toyline in dire need of reproduction its Inhumanoids. If I had the business savvy I'd do it myself. It's a 40 year old cartoon locked in legal limbo, I'll just dub my effort "Monstroids" or something and ride the shitstorm to whereever it takes me.
>>153030262The way sony squandered Ghostbusters over the last 30 years will always baffle the shit out of me. Imagine raking in that much passive revenue from just the song and seasonal halloween merchandise alone, yet not pursuing some sort of continuation of the most successful arm of the franchise in RGB. Ghostbusters could have been their Scooby Doo/TMNT. It could have taken over for Hotel Transylvania once Genndy left too. If they'ed played their cards right they would have been rolling in the money by now. That they instigated the entire culture war by betting on a feminist-bent GB revival will always astonish me. It could have only happened in the late 2010's. No other era of history would have been that retarded.
>>153022190Agreed that 70s was junk, too. When Superfriends is the most memorable show besides Scooby-Doo, you know the era had problems.60s gave us Underdog and Space Ghost, but the best shows were reruns of theatrical shorts.
>>153031490Yeah, but Scooby-Doo is the only one to stand the test of time.
>>153031490>60s gave us Underdog and Space Ghost, but the best shows were reruns of theatrical shorts.Wait, Pink Panther was 50s then I guess? Always get it mixed.>>153031194>>153031244I mean yeah, everyone in this site knows this song and dance, whether they like to admit or not. The industry got gaslit into betting everything on the most obviously lame horse in the track and doubling down for what, one decade straight and going? It's crazy.>>153031214Recently found out there are 3d scans of the Inhumanoids online, even. Unfortunately they're not free.
Will anyone ever storytime the Masters of the Universe Thundercats crossover?
>>152995058BROShttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X21JsHLHnY8
>>153031755>Wait, Pink Panther was 50s then I guess? Always get it mixed. The first movie came out in '63. Cartoon debuted in '69. (which surprised me. I always think of it as a '70's show since that was the bulk of it's run)
>>153032838Wow, didn't think it took that long from the movie to the cartoon. Still at least one of the top cartoons of the decade.
>>152995798>Heathcliff
>>153031755>and doubling down for what, one decade straight and going? It's crazyDepends on what you consider the inflection point. Some people say hunger games was patient zero, others will argue otherwise. As a general rule of thumb 2014 seems like the beginning of the end and between 2015 and 2016 everything went from zero to one hundred.
