I feel some nostalgia for George Liquor and Jimmy the Idiot Boy and Sody Pop. Slab and Ernie too. Jimmy and George were around before (George in R&S, Jimmy as the Spumco mascot), but those characters appeared all the time in post-R&S Spumco stuff. While they never reached the quality of R&S again, I still enjoyed the cartoons they put out. Ripping Friends, the flash cartoons, the music videos, the commercials. The weird Japanese PS2 games they worked on.Maybe I also miss the era of watching all that stuff and not knowing about the grooming crap going on behind the scenes. Seeing Robyn Bird's name in the Ripping Friends credits is pretty awkward now. But at the time, when nobody outside the inner circle knew about all that, Spumco still had a great reputation. A lot about Spumco is still cool, and I can separate art from the artist, but that sours things a bit in hindsight.
