It's been noted that lightsabers existed before Star Wars in scifi and fantasy novels in various forms like energy beams in shape of knives and actual long blades of energy like in Lucky Starr and Kaldar.
So I want to research laser swords in comics from golden age and silver age, I remember a scifi comic cover depicting a woman and a man with jetpacks and short blades of energy, or in Jack Kirby's Mr Miracle an heated sword functioning as laser sword.
So post laser swords or what we commonly know as lightsabers before Star Wars.
