The whole reason anime exploded in the first place was because it did things differently than Western cartoons at the time, handling narratives that were rarely seen elsewhere in ways that hadn't been done before. But the anime industry hasn't really evolved past that, hasn't really tried pushing the boundaries of the medium and is kind of stagnating, so I hope the success of these French studios gives the anime industry a much needed kick in the ass. I like anime, and I want to see it grow.
