It also felt like we had JUST started scratching the surface of Allan's role in the whole dynamic. You know you've struck gold with your show when fans are in it not for "lore" but just to see the characters interact in whatever random scenario you can cook up. Yes, the show is very silly and I doubt Zach & Michael had very detailed plans on how to build on more stories or a larger, more defined supporting cast, but everyone can agree there was still *some* missed potential after all of this. At least enough for the creators to initially agree to a Season 4 and 5.

There was an interesting theory people had come up with about the show ending due to the network possibly pushing animation outsourcing and that going against the DNA of the show and what Zach and Michael want out of the series and the work it provides and garners from others. If that were true I doubt it would ever be directly revealed since it's internal politics and they probably are covering their asses at the network with the same excuse they gave everyone else.
