There's an episode where Meg comes home early to find Lois and Peter slow dancing in the dark surrounded by candles. They express its something folks do to keep their marriage strong.I really wish they'd go back to them being a loving albeit weird couple. Like when they were talking about their concerns about drugs in school while preparing for a bdsm session. It was just sweet.

Combining these ideas would make for a good episode or special, but I can't see a show existing about either. I just don't see the FG cast having franchise potential where they splinter off and have their own shows.
>>153035996Cleveland Show proved it can be done just fine. But what made THAT work was the fact that (up to that point) Cleveland himself didn't get much focus on his own home life outside the Clam. Aside from his hyperactive son who'd appeared maybe once or twice and his divorce with Loretta, the character was pretty much a blank slate. They were thus able to move him out of Quahog and build out a whole new world for him to run free. Joe by comparison is too closely tied to the Griffins with how often his role as the cop family friend allows him to be used more often in bit parts than a mailman/deli owner or even a commercial pilot. The more frequent Lois-focused episodes in recent years have also made Bonnie a prominent enough character in the series proper. That's why a Stewie series makes no sense to me. He's even MORE prominent and essentially the deuteragonist of the show already; when it's not a Peter or Lois episode, the writers fall back on Brian or Stewie plots before ever considering Chris or Meg. I'm looking forward to the new spin-off only because I'm curious how they'll justify this approach, especially since this time it wouldn't remove Stewie from FG like with Cleveland a decade earlier.
