The series has also been almost exclusively used as an excuse to show off some new gimmick or tech associated with Nintendo hardware, not for the sake of making a better Star Fox.Pikmin by comparison has been handled internally at Nintendo for every main series title and sequels have been made because people inside Nintendo genuinely want to keep making them.Pikmin 3 sold decent on the Wii U which is why we finally got 4 on the Switch. Star Fox Zero was both a financial and critical failure, so that's why it's been over a decade since the last game and Miyamoto is resorting to using the Mario movie to get some momentum going.
