It's pretty damn bad.

It's a mildly interesting time capsule of an era where there wasn't much material to work with, but I wouldn't call it "good".

Of all the main video game shows, I would rank them:

Super Mario 3 Show
Super Mario Super Show
Legend of Zelda
Sonic SATam

(Way down)

Super Mario World

None of them are particularly good, besides some nostalgic love I have for them. SATam would have been better without the other freedom fighters.

Does the masters still look like a crappy European bootlegs?

Considering the nature of MeTVToons it's interesting seeing them add shows and shake up their schedule. I wonder what they're going to have to move off the schedule to make room.

I rewatched it on DVD a few years ago.
It sucked.

its a charming cartoon for 10 and under. the VAs are decent, but the animation ranges from decent to oops that went out of the air. But basically its just episodic parodies of pop culture and that sucks because none of the original licensed music survived to help enforce the parody.

Most of the writing is pretty ugh, but every now and then a couple go by that make you laugh,

I enjoyed it as a kid, but it's pretty corny watching it now. Not hard to watch or anything, but you'll probably get more out of the live action bits as an adult than the cartoon.

The live action skits are better as an adult.

They cut out the music? That sucks, it was one of the parts I remember liking.

It has a lot of "Fat Albert" energy, it's funny because everything is so awkward. The characters deliver almost every line as flat as possible, there is a lot if weird pauses between dialog like they are speaking with mentally challenged children, the soundtrack is very repetitive and poorly implemented so will be hearing silly mario themes shoehorned into scenes going "DOO!DOO!DOO!DOO!" looping in the background during conversations a little too loud because God forbid they let a conversation use silence and proper sound stings for effect. My favorite moments is when a conversation ends and one of the characters will either nod or hit a pose in response to what was said in complete silence, it's like a Sitcom without canned laughter. Also, the voices are funny
