I'm not sure if this belongs more on /co/ or /mu/; I figure /co/ will be more interested, and the mods can move threads to different boards anyway.
The Rels is a rock band founded by Tom Watterson. The bands artwork was made by Tom's brother Bill, the creator of Calvin and Hobbes. Bill Watterson went by the pseudonym Fang Wampir in the liner notes.
The Rel's have two known releases, the single Meet The Rels (containing the songs Change Your Story and Over Me), and the album Heartbeat of a Liar (which contains both the aforementioned songs along with seven new ones).
Scanned copies of the artwork have been floating around the internet for a while, but until now no copies of their album have been uploaded to the internet, not even on soulseek.
However, I have found a cassette and have ripped it for your enjoyment. I hope you appreciate this little unique piece of Calvin and Hobbes history.

I first heard of this band from this page

I never noticed the years the albums came out. I always assumed this was a pre-Calvin and Hobbes high school thing, not near the end of its newspaper run. Something about the art and the name Fang Wampir made it seem like a teenage goth thing
