How do you become a voice actor exactly? Are there classes for it or something? Or do you just need a very distinct voice.

>>153046768There are classes for it. It’s mostly about being a good performer, you don’t need a distinct voice or a knack for impressions. If you can act or narrate you can learn how to do it in front of a mic and prepare a demo reel of samples for auditioning. There is almost definitely a video or class of some VA you know talking about it in more depth if you look for it. AI has probably made it harder to get real work but it’s easier than ever to connect online and do it remotely too. Lots of indie cartoon stuff and student films to volunteer on out there if you just want to give cartoon VO a go. If you hoped to do it as a job and aren’t an actor by trade, audiobook narration is worth studying up on too as its steady work with decent hours and the technique is slightly different.
