Catching AU vids made me want to come up with one of my own, specifically a Rag-centric one:> The Circus members are hosts in an edutainment game, each animating one or more game> Ragatha is the mascot: the game is named after her ("Ragatha's House of Fun and Learning" or sth) and she is the one welcoming the player upon loading the game> Caine only appears in the animation sequence for the developper's logo (still plays a role, but more so in the back, where the player can't see him)> Borrowing the clone theory and mixing it with the "every copy is personnalized" meme: the characters data assembled from the brains of their human counterparts, as part of an experiment to make the game feel less scripted and more alive> When the kid is not playing the game, they just hang around the house and as far as the virtual world stretches> The characters are fully aware of their condition, being forever stuck inside a program, but try to keep a happy face when the kid is playing and maintain a routine by preparing new activities for the next session> Some grow apathetic to this life and start putting the bare minimum (Jax, Zooble) while others (Ragatha, Gangle) dread that the kid will one day stop playing and they'll be left without a purpose for the rest of time or the game will be uninstalled and God knows what happens afterwards> Ragatha, being the "official leader", tries to maintain morale and cohesion but gets more lonely, nervous and depressed as the group falls apart around her> Some characters start trying to actually communicate with the player but Caine prowls around to make sure they don't "break immersion"?
