April Pool’s!

Comics in this thread:
>Deadpool: April Pool's Day
>X-Men #28
>>
Bump if you're reading.
>>
I was going to comment that they had brought back Merlin again after he got killed in Knights of X and spelled his name wrong…but this isn’t actually Merlin. I’ll explain who he is in a bit.
>>
>Wade makes tea in a microwave
WHAT
>>
This being written by Simone means that Outlaw is also making an appearance.
>>
Get pounded
>>
Oh no, a Conan expy!
>>
>>
>>
>>
…wait, why is this a romance comic now?
>>
Suddenly, the army
>>
Yup, the villain of the comic is none other than Wally the Wizard: a pretty obscure character that had his own comic series under the Star Comics Imprint.
And yes, that would mean that the old man we saw in the beginning of the issue is Marlin the Magician, who is (or, was) Wally’s mentor. He doesn’t even have a proper wiki page, he only has a disambiguation page. As for why his name is “Marlin” and not “Merlin”, it’s because he’s (apparently) Merlin’s older brother.

>>
I think you can tell where this is going.
>>
>>
>>
>>
Yup, it’s another story with commentary on how the many genre comics that Marvel used to publish have all been replaced by superheroes.
>>
>>
Thanks Starr, for defeating the fire dragon for us.
>>
>No one believes in Wade
Well, it is Wade and the story is set on April 1st, so…
>>
>The Thing actually believes in him
Thanks Ben
>>
>>
>>
We got more heroes helping out, including Rogue and Gambit because Simone writes UXM.
>>
>They’re going to make a theme park to save the genre-verse
Are you really sure that will work?
>>
I guess it did…? Oh well, it’s over now.
Still not as disappointing as 4chan's April Fools' gimmick for this year.
>>
>>
New month, new editorial pages.
>The X-Men event that was coming in summer has been delayed to autumn
I guess it was done because we got both Armageddon and Queen In Black running for summer.
>>
We continue our new section about sharing fun facts of the people who work on the X-Books, this time focusing on Luciano Vecchio.

And now we wait for X-Men.
>>
That was….EPIC!

>>
How is Mackay's run going? I dropped it with age of revelation.
>>
>>153044730
this but unironically
>>
>>153044750
It's been fine
>>
>>153044579
Doesn't Deadpool know they renamed the game to Catan?
>>
>>153044585
Well, he does exist as a fallback character, so they could reuse the BWS/ Roy Thomas Conan comics if they couldn't get the license.
>>
Anyways, while we are waiting for X-Men to get ripped, we got this:
>The X-Men’s Hellfire Gala, mutantkind’s biggest—and sometimes deadliest—celebration, is back for another drama-filled night of mystery, betrayal and omega-level fashion in X-MEN: THE HELLFIRE MURDER #1, hitting stands in July.

>As is tradition, X-MEN: THE HELLFIRE MURDER #1 will be written and drawn by a spectacular lineup of current X-Men creators including Jed MacKay (X-Men), Gail Simone (Uncanny X-Men), Eve L. Ewing (X-Men United), Saladin Ahmed (Wolverine), Erica Schultz (Rogue), Tony Daniel (X-Men), Luciano Vecchio (Uncanny X-Men), Federica Mancin (Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant), and more! Once more, the giant-sized one-shot serves as a capstone to the last year of X-Men storytelling with reunions and romance abound, and simultaneously sets the stage for what’s on the horizon with startling developments like the formation of an all-new Hellfire Club and the murder of a key mutant figure.
>>
>HOMICIDE AT THE HELLFIRE GALA! When an iconic mutant power player is murdered at an exclusive masquerade hosted by Sebastian Shaw, it falls to Wolverine and Jubilee to solve a locked-room mystery that has dire consequences for all mutantkind. Everyone is a suspect. And the party isn’t over yet...
>>
>>153044619
The Rawhide Kid feels like an odd man out of these characters since he get used whenever someone bothers to write Marvel western characters
including Gail
>>
>The secrets won’t be the only thing stunning readers. As always, your favorite mutants will be decked out in unforgettable attire! Leading the design efforts will be Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Luciano Vecchio, following his acclaimed work on last year’s Hellfire Gala issue, X-Men: Hellfire Vigil. A certified expert in mutant fashion, Vecchio outdid himself this year with dramatic and unique masquerade looks. Can you guess who’s behind each mask?

>“Doing Hellfire Gala designs is always a pleasure,” Vecchio said. “This time around, it’s a masquerade, so the challenge was to come up with looks that divert from each character's classic iconography to reflect their mask's theme. The dresscode is a callback to classic Hellfire Club attire, so there’s 18th-century fashion mixed with corsets and leather gear, but mixing up the gendering of those elements, resulting in something elegant and sexy.”

>Check out Vecchio’s cover along with a peek at his design sheet and RSVP for X-MEN: THE HELLFIRE MURDER #1 at your local comic shop today!

We already had it confirmed back in Brevoort’s last AiPT interview that they were making another Hellfire special, but I honestly can’t look at this and not think of the similarities it has with the first Hellfire Gala (which had Wanda’s “death” that lead to the investigation in Trial of Magneto).
>>
>>153044957
why are Wolverine and Cyclops dressed like gay strippers
>>
>>153044995
The Hellfire Gala is the annual "make everyone look extremely lame and gay" event
>>
>>153044665
So, who are the brothers of the dragon?
>>
>>153044964
wonder who they will bother to kill this time,
Shaw maybe since he doesn't seem to have a design.
>>
>>153045013
I think they're a stand-in for the Sons of the Tiger, the guys who shared the Tiger Amulet in those old kung fu comics >>153044619
>>
>>153045092
Could those guys not be used for legal reasons?
