Ewing (X-Men United), Saladin Ahmed (Wolverine), Erica Schultz (Rogue), Tony Daniel (X-Men), Luciano Vecchio (Uncanny X-Men), Federica Mancin (Storm: Earth’s Mightiest Mutant), and more! Once more, the giant-sized one-shot serves as a capstone to the last year of X-Men storytelling with reunions and romance abound, and simultaneously sets the stage for what’s on the horizon with startling developments like the formation of an all-new Hellfire Club and the murder of a key mutant figure.
>>153047230>HOMICIDE AT THE HELLFIRE GALA!>When an iconic mutant power player is murdered at an exclusive masquerade hosted by Sebastian Shaw, it falls to Wolverine and Jubilee to solve a locked-room mystery that has dire consequences for all mutantkind. Everyone is a suspect. And the party isn’t over yet...>The secrets won’t be the only thing stunning readers. As always, your favorite mutants will be decked out in unforgettable attire! Leading the design efforts will be Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Luciano Vecchio, following his acclaimed work on last year’s Hellfire Gala issue, X-Men: Hellfire Vigil. A certified expert in mutant fashion, Vecchio outdid himself this year with dramatic and unique masquerade looks. Can you guess who’s behind each mask?
>>153047238>“Doing Hellfire Gala designs is always a pleasure,” Vecchio said. “This time around, it’s a masquerade, so the challenge was to come up with looks that divert from each character's classic iconography to reflect their mask's theme. The dresscode is a callback to classic Hellfire Club attire, so there’s 18th-century fashion mixed with corsets and leather gear, but mixing up the gendering of those elements, resulting in something elegant and sexy.”

>Annually carrot-sticking the Krakoafags because Brevoort's "MEMBER THE 90S?" strategy isn't workingFUCKING PATHETIC
>>153047260>The AngelDid they invite Sinister again?
>>153047281>oneshot is headlined by Wolverine & JubileeYou WILL 'member the nineties.
isnt this garbage literally based on a video game down even to the masks? Please fire and cancel the id of brevoort forever
>>153047260How are the designs still this fucking bad
Bring back the Inhumans and their clouds.
>>153047230>>153047238Gayer than buttsex
>>153047230>Man you know what'll sell our heroes>Eyes Wide Shut parties and billionare fuckery>Especially in the age of peak hate for this shitThe Hellfire Gala was always the most tone deaf bullshit but it's getting worse
I might be mistaken but I often get the impression that Wolverine's popularity is kind of its own thing apart from the rest of the X-Men. Like there are people who are fans specifically of Wolverine but not of the X-Men in general, and vice versa.
>>153047230Using Logan and Jubilee instead of the real detectives Bishop and Sage?Bullshit.
>>153047399Masquerade murder mystery were a literary trope long before Friendslop or whatever they're calling that subgenre now
>>153047510>Expecting THE CONDUCTOR OF X to properly utilize Black mutantsC'MON NOW
>>153047238How is Shaw meant to host the masquerade if they threw him into Graymalkin in Sentinels
>>153047883Maybe he's an agent for Graymalkin now, who knows. Or maybe Sentinels doesn't matter. The continued existence of that place is a point of frustration for me because Raid on Graymalkin made it clear that it's intolerable to let it stand while also making it look like it'd be very easy to shut it down.
>>153047510Sage got to be in two consecutive runs on X-Force. Now Sagefriends are gonna be waiting another decade for her to star in anything.
>>153047913BUT WHAT CAN THE X-MEN POSSIBLY DO ABOUT A GIANT SPACE LASER?!
Tom "Stay Queer" Brevoort does it again.
