A hero. A villain. A reporter. Three old men, on one night in Gotham, each have encounters that will reverberate across their city forever.

>>153055105I get the idea that pamela isn't doing this out of beef, but because she knows that batman is going to discover why savage is so interested in gotham and that may threaten her and everyone, and she still loves Batman for caring for her at her worst. So, 100% fraction is going to revisit the no man's land and the gotham underground ruins that was left out.
I haven't followed batman in quite a while but Savage being police commissioner and Ivy being mayor seem absurd even for capeshit
>>153055117I miss when Pam wore an actual costume like the lovely leotard and gloves/boots instead of just plants.
>>153055195Why is Tim doing that with his hands
>>153055528It's 100% bullshit but apparently we're the assholes for saying something.
>>153055689fags love jazz hands
>>153055702I think you mean jizz hands
>>153055727straight people don't interact with cum?
>>153055740Wll they don't use it as hand lotion.
>>153055528Savage isn't doing this out of personal fuckery against batman, there is something else he found at the batcave that is hidden beneath gotham.Again, fraction seems to be going to revisit the No Man's Land and Arkham Asylum lore with the Old Gotham ruins
>>153055788Anon it's not really a question of why but how.
>>153055528I was "What?" about it too, but this issue gave me context so I'm a little bit more forgiving>>153055692God, are you always a victim?
>>153055915Yes, quit bullying me about it anon :(
>>153055915I read big two comics, yes.
>>153055528Lex Luthor was president for a while. Penguin almost became mayor. This isn't anything new although I will say they at least pretended to go legit for a while before getting into office. Ivy and Savage should have multiple lifetimes worth of jail they need to do first.
>>153055960Luthor and Penguin never had anything stick to them for quite a while and were "legit" bad guys. That's a far from fucking poison ivy and vandal savage
>>153055195I could have sworn The Mayor and the Cops being Anti-Batman has been done multiple times in the past 20 years.
>>153055960Yeah I think Lex also had a weird subplot about dying from kryptonite cancer but he transferred his consciousness to a younger body he passed off his son so I guess he could always say I'm not my father's son despite being the same person.Or maybe that all got resolved before his president arc and people just shrug their shoulder and voted for the corrupt capitalist clone.
>>153055998At this point it's probably more revolutionary to not blame Batman for all these independent supervillains and work with him instead.
>>153055988Penguin went to jail all the time and Luthor used the usual rich guy tactics and faking his death to get them taken off his record. Over in the Marvel universe Norman got to run SHIELD/HAMMER for a while. Not a political office but one he was given when he was previously serving as leader for a group of criminals as part of his imprisonment.>>153055999Every once in a while all of his crimes are forgotten and even when it's shown he still did them it's memory holed. Comics tend to handwave a lot of stuff if it gets in the way of the current story.
>>153056049post-crisis I don't think Penguin ever went to real prison or even got knocked before he ran for mayor. Same with Lex and being president which is ironic since he finally got popped when he was president
I do like the analogy of Vandal Savage's various lifetimes/careers akin to weathering a winter. He chooses a role out of pure spite to endure another age/generation.
>>153055528The court got savage appointed comisioner if it means anythingAnd ivy is implied to have used mind control to get elected
>>153055040Fraction, I want to see Batman punching people in his comic, not just talk and talks in ridiculously contrived places.
>Tim Drake>now Alan Scottwe see you Fraction
hijacking this thread to ask. when did batman go from a crimefighter to a full on superhero? like i read some 90s batbooks and he was seemingly more of a street level guy and more of a detective and still fought regular non-powered/costume guys often whether they were the villain or just henchmen of the villain. when i read more modern batman stuff its often just supervillain after supervillain and lots of "sprawling epic storylines" and "things will never be the same, the epic conclusion" etc. i preferred the street level stuff
>>153056955depends on where you draw the "superhero" line really. He's had crossovers like world's finest where he swung above his weight for a long time, but if it's just the general gotham narratives I'd say some time around hush through infinite crisis. Wargames might be the exact point. Pretty much all of the batpeople suffered from the stakes being perpetually high and lacking the day to day crime fighting stuff until Dick became batman, though some of it is kinda ok. It really made the setting a lot weaker imo but they don't really seem to have faith in anything unless the stakes are high
>>153057165i preferred the general gotham narratives.
>>153055040Great. Just what this shitty comic needed. More boring gay characters.
>>153055085>>153055094>LOOK! IT’S JUST LIKE HAWKEYE! MEMBER HAWKEYE?!!
>>153055140This says a lot about our society….
>>153056955After Final Crisis. Everything after that had been Batman fighting supervillains and big events.
>>153055040>>153055042>>153055046You know it's funny and sad at the same time how this shit is objectively the right way to open an issue with Alan Scott but this simply be Alan Scott. Is it because he's gay? Well yeah that's part of it but the larger issue is discontinuity and how's there's no one in DC who knows how to fix this. How can we ever square things up again? Is not that the line from Golden age Green Lantern is broken, it's the fact there's large unexplainable gaps.
