You could literally just have the start with Rosalina's capture, everyone goes to rescue her, final scenes, it would be the same fucking movie but 20 minutes long.Reviewers aren't being hyperbolic when they call this an anti-movie. The previous Mario film at least pretended to have story beats and a character arc; it fucked up the paint by numbers but you could still recognize the form of the picture. This movie has none of that to the point that people might rightly compare it to clip shows.The closest it gets to any kind of actual writing is Peach wanting to find her Sister and discover her origins, which takes up approximately 35 seconds of runtime and has no impact on her character whatsoever.

As a huge critic of the first movie, I don’t even know how people are disappointed in this. Like what the fuck did they THINK they were going to get?
