That last season of Superfriends with Firestorm and Cyborg is such a weird time capsule.It was supposed to have synergy with the Super Powers toy line, but they only added those two heroes out of a bunch who had never been on Superfriends before. I guess they thought a wizard old enough to have fought in WW2, an android with the same power as their OC Samurai and a shapeshifting alien telepath with all the powers of Superman on top of that would be less relatable to kids than 18-year-old superheroes?
>>153060525To be fair they also used Darkseid a LOT that season, he was the main villain of the Super Powers toyline and it's tie-in comics the people behind the toyline were gives lots of different drawings from DC's heroes and villains as reference and they picked up Firestorm and Darkseid as main characters of the toyline just because they looked cool (which makes sense)
