Or is the moralizing performative?

I remember hearing he never even accepted the money from the adaptations
>>

The former. He used to give the money from adaptations that was meant for him to the artists, so David Lloyd and Dave Gibbons got double helpings. I think recently, because the HBO Watchmen show was about black people, he said to give his money from any further adaptations to Black Lives Matter. This sent his haters into a frenzy for a little while on /co/ and /tv/, as well as pissing off a bunch of lefties on Reddit because they knew Black Lives Matter was then known to be misappropriating the donation moneys. Good times.

he did until recently
if you read his most recent books he's had a change in tone after 2020-21.
he started writing his Niel Gaiman pastiche "long london" thing which is pretty pathetic, and has fully endorsed the tv adaptation. (oddly, right after Gaiman was blacklisted for fucking bitches).
I think he's feeling his mortality and wants to leave some money to his kids

tiny-ass picture you got there..

He's turned down "swimming pools of hollywood money", to quote the man.

He did cringe a little when he realized just how much money it was he was turning down on principle but he stuck to his guns.

As always, I'd recommend WATCHING his interviews and seeing the man in the flesh being disarmingly human and honest rather than seeting 2nd hand accounts of how he disrespected your favourite corporation

The casual (most of /co/) only knows him as le grumpy film and tv adaptation man, and fucking loves memeing about it. Sad!

The real question

If they make a lot of money do they pay him again?

They live off his success not viceversa
>>
>>153061282
he turns down money from adaptations but he does get royalties from the actual comics. probably not enough to live off them considering he's never stopped working
>>
>>153061317
All am saying is that the famous think here are his ideas not theirs let along ours
>>
>>153059335
>implying he gets the same amount of money as the kikes in charge of shitting the adaptation
Dumb retard.
By that logic, kikes who shit on his work should also give back the money. But you aren't asking them, because you are their puppet.

Or even just taking care of himself/ allowing his family to not have to take him as a burden. he saw his friend Steve Moore die in poverty, financially drained from taking care of his brother with ALS and then dying alone to the point he was found long decomposed. The reality of how precarious health can be sets in quick.
