I just did a rewatch, I think I enjoyed it a lot more this time than previously. It helps when you think of it like "America was fucking sick of fluffy, overly nice sitcoms, having had a resurgence of them after a brief flirtation with actually solid issues in the 70s, so they did this show with silly, crummily-drawn cartoon people having real foibles and slightly criticizing the establishment". Like then it's adorable. Homer's trying so hard. Bart's so innocent. Lisa's surprisingly a little shit right from the start, two-faced, spiteful, sad about things no eight year old should be sad about, while also not even questioning the veracity of the information given her.

But most of the fun is just watching for silly animation goofs. For example, in "Bart Gets an F" you can tell at the very end, they had already animated the scene before remembering "oh right, snow day" and had to hastily repaint / paint over the background
