In the case of the former, his body type and proportions are about as close to his normal robot body as possible without looking too weird, so I'm not sure how it could have been much better? As for the latter, probably not, self control is something you learn growing up from consequences of bad judgement, they just kinda created an adult human out of a robot who couldn't be harmed by much.
