I liked it. The characters are fun, and it has interesting political themes without being preachy.

I gave the first series a read just now. I enjoyed it. Interesting premise with having most of the superhero antics staged to keep people pacified. I wonder if this is also riffing on Astro City along with the usual superhero pastiches. Whether it's preachy or not may be debatable. It definitely doesn't shy away from the race stuff. As far as adult capeshit stories with social commentary go I thought the writer managed to bring it all together by the end. I'll check out the sequel later.
