These aren’t the 1989s anymore and the smurfette principle trope is long past.
How can M.A.S.K. be successful in this day and age with only one female on each side?
>>
Who the fuck is pushing so damn hard for MASK to be relevant again? It can't be Hasbro.
>>
>>153074056
it probably is, MASK has a lower number of toys to update and (retarded cartoons aside) is a better version of GI Joe; the problem Skybound has had depicting GI Joe/Cobra so far is that most of the equipment is laughably out of date, never mind that we're in an era when big aircraft carriers and manned flight strike groups are becoming if not already obsolescent, on their way to being fully obsolete; so Skybound has relied on stupid-looking flying bathtubs for "drones" to try and update 80s toys into 2020s relevance, on ill-defined gross meatpeople tech for the Cobra-La storyline I'm almost certain they could drop overnight without anybody noticing, and the biker gang that love purple drank for cheap comedy; beyond that it's just treading water waiting for a G1 Transformer to show up every few issues

MASK - the perfidy angle baked-in to the concept aside - is easier to update because it's just trucks and helicopters and bikes and dumb helmets, and there's hardly anything to it at all, and it's easier to write a blank slate if you can put big-titted bitches with broken ankles on your covers to sell to middle-aged men who get a lil dopamine hit from seeing vaguely familiar toys they likely never owned

all of which will have factored into Hasbro's thinking

>>153072959
Skybound is basically a dead franchise at this point anyway, it has three ongoings chugging along doing nothing much and one that's just turned into endless fucking heel turns after two years of solid storytelling and characterization
>>
Hasbro would only care if they had MASK toys to shill. They don't right now, so its irrelevant to them.

Retcon Nigger Tracker to be a transgender trans racial Madam Veil who's tricked GI Joe into thinking she's Matt Tracker

Bring back the real white blonde make Matt Tracker

>>153074056
Kirkman is trying to avenge woke IDW Hasbroverse and Nigger Tracker basically was the first massive domino for it falling
>>
>>153074451
They listened Mask off to loyal subjects. White Tracker was one of the top selling ME Joe figures and Sly Rax was the most heavily requested Venom figures.

Again this is Kirkman trying to avenge the woke cancers at IDW who are his besties and will kill the Energonverse

>licensed it off
Shows how little they care. Just like Power Rangers.
>>
>Presumably stemming from the fact that most Transformers cartoons are commissioned by Hasbro in order to advertise their toys, a lot of fans are under the impression that Hasbro pays comic publishers like IDW Publishing and Skybound Entertainment to produce Transformers comics for them. This is the exact opposite of how licensed comics work; these companies pay Hasbro for the privilege of publishing Transformers comics, and they keep all the profits outside of that licensing fee. As such, Hasbro doesn't have any particular investment in the comics selling well, other than their indirect effects on toy sales and potential negative press caused by "failing" comics; all that matters to Hasbro is that they sell well enough that they keep paying for the license.

Hasbro doesn't give a rat's ass what Skybound is doing.
>>
>>153072959
the problem with MASK is that vehicles turning into vehicles just isn't much of a novelty anymore.
>>
>>153074609

And the stuff they turn into is fucking lame anyway. Robot Chicken was right in that regard.
