Insomniac has only had shit writers though. Their games were only funny before they started focusing on the stories. They were entertaining for their gags and were being actively defanged once they hit the PS3 era. By the end they were toothless.

Up Your Arsenal feels rushed to me. Weak graphics and level design.

clank was changed from a rejected war bot with a naive but strong throughline belief in justice to le ebin computer time wizards prodigy
ratchet was changed from an ambitious teen struggling and manipulating for an escapist fantasy that goes on a journey and finds reasons to care about what he's doing to a shiny eyed dandy fop in training who hust wants to join the galactic rangers so bad because he's le orphan
quark when from a jaded washed up has been who knowingly abetted a galactic threat for a shot of clout and relevance to a sellout and active military traitor
drekk was completely defanged becouse of course we have to sequelbait already and put everyone's favorite loon nefarious in early. now he is a man who genuinely justifies an intrasystem planetary war for his own people's good and gets tricked by nefarious, instead of a planet ruling tycoon who willingly polluted his own homeworld to unusability, was extracting chunks of other planets and destroying them to make his species a new one, and planned to repeat the cycle again in a bid to be war profiteer, land baron and industry monopolist to an entire species, completely ignoring the capitalist disaster he was made to lampoon
its' a movie that respected none of it's characters and none of it's legacy and strangled a healthy entertainment franchise in one industry to feed the still birth of one in another

In my opinion it was not bad, it's just limited screening due to being Playstation exclusive instead of full promotion with american media like how Minecraft and Mario is.
